He does chastise for He loves

Lamentation 3:7 - He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.

Just sometime before writing this I read a post of famous TV preacher stating:-

"When you sit still and trust Him, God works. When you work with strife and trust yourself, God sits still. Which do you prefer?"

This may sound good but sadly is not the truth. I had just commented on this on the wall of a dear one of the Lord and then after praying for today's message I got Lamentation 3:11 so that I can share the same with you.

When we read Lamentation chapter 3 from verse 1 to 18 Jeremiah speaks of who the Lord goes against us when He wrath is turned at us. In such times there is no hope for in all directions we find destruction and disasters. In such situations almost all of us at stage just wait for the final blow and the end to come. But then we read in verses 19 to 32 we read when we reflect in the goodness of God, what He has done for us then a ray of hope does shine in our darkness.

A key to understand this is verses 37 and 38

KJV translates as :-
Lamentation 3:37-38 [KJV]
37 Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?

But when one goes deeper the scripture stands as

Lamentation 3:37-38 [Expounded]
37 Who is he that utter, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not unpleasant and pleasant?

God has set all things for the purpose of good and it will surely come to pass. Now when we the Children of God walk in the Way of the Lord the favour of God falls on us but when we do not walk in the way of the Lord and when we are just about the be lost the Lord does not allow that to happen therefore chastises us.

God does not desire we be lost therefore at time has to take severe steps in our lives according to our heart so has to bring us back on the track and into His glory.

Therefore the preacher's statement should have been:-

"When you stand still and trust Him, God works on your problems. When you work with strife and trust yourself, God starts to work on you and may even increase your problems at times. Which do you prefer?"

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You are our Father. A Father who loves His children dearly and would not let anyone take them away from You including the children themselves. Therefore at times You may seem to be against your own and we fail to realize You alone are for them and we are in fact against ourselves. Lord, help us trust in You and depending solely on You walk in your ways to always receive your favour...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Luke 11:11-13
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Hebrews 12:8 - But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
