Mark 14:71 But he began to curse and to swear, [saying], I know not this man of whom ye speak.
The Greek word for ‘curse’ means ‘to declare oneself liable to the severest divine penalties’, and to swear means to affirm, promise, or threaten with an oath.
In today’s scripture, we find Peter cursing himself for being in that place and swearing that he did not know Jesus. People believe Jesus asked Peter the question ‘do you love me?’ thrice so as to forgive him thrice for the 3 times he cursed himself. But to that there is more than this, for in the replies which Jesus gave later, all the 3 times were instructions on how to lead a disciple.
People assume that to curse is to put a spell. They think some words delivered in a certain fashion/situation have power. Human words or any word/s that is not Truth/from God has no power. People who do not know the truth can be under the temporary power of lies, for a lie is not eternal, but truth is.
What is leaked in social media is the Marvel movie to be released in December named ‘Avengers Doomsday ’; it is said the “Word of God” (also referred to as the Book of God) is heavily rumoured and leaked via insider reports to be a powerful extra-dimensional magical artifact wielded by Victor Von Doom (played by Robert Downey Jr.). In the lore, this mysterious book serves as a primary source of his immense multiversal power.
Words have no power; they are like flowers. It is only when we pollinate them that we eat of its fruit. If the word/s is Truth/from God, then when we pollinate/meditate on it we eat eternal good fruit, but if it is a lie/evil then they lead us to death. The power to pollinate/believe/meditate on them is with us, so let us discern the words people/we ourselves speak in our lives.

Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, are truth; You do not change, for truth never changes. There is power in Your Name, and Your Word brings us to know Your Name, Who You Are. Lord, we pray we do not get deceived by people and their lies, but discern every word that comes to our ears/sight…
