We all stand before the Judgment Seat
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad.
When one questions Pastors or Preachers about their belief that Believers go to Heaven at their death, in the context of Judgment Day, they say Judgment is only for those who are alive then. When one points out scriptures like the one we received today, saying we all will stand before the Judgment Seat, they come up with an even crazier theory that even those in Heaven will be judged later. They get trapped, for they have partly accepted the popular Catholic Church doctrine of Peter managing the entry gate of Heaven. Such that Peter, and not Christ, judges a person when they die.
The greatest problem with our Church is that its foundation is unclear; confusion creeps in, and so do heretical doctrines. Even today, most take an intro to the foundational topics mentioned in Hebrews 6:1-3, and do not cover all that is mentioned.
It is only when we build a clear foundation that we will have Christians who are Christians and Disciples of Christ and not followers of men who call themselves Christians.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, created all things both in Heaven and this creation for a purpose. When the purpose is fulfilled, not just this creation but even the Heavens cease to exist, and something new and unimaginable comes to existence. Lord, we pray we are not fooled into believing in vanity and thus destroy our lives…
We make this prayer in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Hebrews 6:1-3
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
2 Peter 3:7, 10-13
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 [Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
