Galatians 2: 17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, [is] therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
The word translated as ‘justified’ is the Greek word ‘dikaioo’, which means ‘to render righteous’.
Sin corrupted us; Christ came as man to put us on the path of restoration. As man, He first made peace between God and man by getting us forgiven (when we repent through Him). He also, by His sacrifice, made available His Spirit (Holy Spirit), who does the work of guiding us and help us in the actual restoration so that we can be eligible to enter Heaven.
Christ’s relationship with sin can be equated to a doctor’s relationship with sickness. The doctor does not encourage sickness but helps us overcome it. The doctor may tolerate sickness in mild quantity, for he knows none are perfect, but in Christ, that is not an option. We have to overcome any and every kind of sin within us as the Lord reveals to us and helps us.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, are Holy God. You are Perfect in every way, and nothing imperfect can dwell before You. You created us and the Heavenly beings so that You can induce perfection through our overcoming sin by the power of Your Name. Lord, we pray we keep running this race knowing our goal, and never give up…
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 6:1-2
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
1 John 3:8-10
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1 John 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
