Ezekiel 18: 14 Now, lo, [if] he beget a son, that seeth all his father’s sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
Many years back, I was filled with thousands of questions with regard to salvation, but today it is the opposite; there are hardly any pending that need answering. This is all because the Lord dealt with all of them by opening my understanding to the hidden things of the scriptures.
These questions include whether an infant of an unbelieving parent will go to Hell and suffer there.
Today’s scripture does not answer the question fully, but answers part of it, that is, if an offspring suffers the sins of its parent. It does not mean the offspring will go to Heaven/sleep in the Lord.
We inherit many things from our parents, and one of them is their sin nature. It does not mean we become sinners, but it does mean on birth we are spiritually corrupt like our parents. As we live our lives, we add or remove the corruption (part of it).
Sin nature does not necessarily mean sin. Sin nature means the natural tendency to do that sin. It is only when we act on it that we stop being just carriers of a virus but end up also being infected by it.
Let us get ourselves clear that no one goes to Heaven without doing anything. Even if we believe and do not commit a grave sin, we will be saved from Hell but will not go to Heaven. To go to Heaven, one needs to do acts of faith, not just have faith but exercise it; above all, this faith needs to be alive when the person sleeps in Him. Jesus said if we do not witness Him on earth, He will not witness us before His Angels, which means we will not enter Heaven.
An infant on death may go to Hell. But that does not mean the infant which goes to Hell will suffer; it will simply exist there like the one sleeping in the Lord. Hell, unlike the Lake of Fire, is a prison where the soul is restrained until its spirit’s life term (which is in thousands of years). During this period it suffers every sin within it (not sin nature).
[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, are Just God. You made us for a purpose, and those who fail in the purpose do not enter Your Kingdom. Lord, we pray we understand the hidden treasures of Your Kingdom so that we behave like Children of Light and not of darkness, walking in clarity and not in confusion…
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
1 Kings 2:10 So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
2 Samuel 12:13-14, 18, 23
13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also [that is] born unto thee shall surely die.
18 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?
23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
2 Chronicles 34:27-28
27 Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard [thee] also, saith the LORD.
28 Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.
Genesis 25:8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full [of years]; and was gathered to his people.
