Haggai 2:9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
When God gave Moses the design of the Tabernacle, He was very specific about the material used, its presentation, sizes, etc. The Lord had special people who were blessed with skills to make it. The whole Tabernacle was in a tent for a purpose.
Later, we see that David and Solomon thought the Lord had given a design of a tent because the people had not settled down in their own land. Thus, they wanted to build a proper temple of stone and precious metals. David could not achieve it, but our great, wise man Solomon did. This was his many foolishnesses.
When Jesus was told about the beauty of the temple in Jerusalem, He did not show any interest in it. Paul then writes that we are the Temple of God.
To understand who we are, we need to understand the Tabernacle of God and its design and all the objects in it. This world is a temporary passing phase for us; our lives are like living in tents. So let us not get attached to this world or its things. It is only then that we will see the glory of God, even in this world, while we dwell in this flesh.
We become the Latter House that has greater glory only when we implement the plans of God in our lives (become the Tabernacle).
[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, are Spirit, and You command us to walk in the Spirit to be glorified in You. Lord, we pray that we overcome this flesh while we still dwell in it. We pray we understand the design and symbolism of the Tabernacle, everything within it, so that we embody it within ourselves and become the living Tabernacles of the Lord, with the glory of You manifesting in us…
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
