1 Corinthians 9:19 For though I be free from all [men], yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.<\/p>\n
A person who is in Christ is set free, free from sins, free from curses, free from race, free from caste\/class, free from gender… yet we see Paul says he made himself a servant for all mankind to gain more.<\/p>\n
When he said more, it does not mean only more souls for the Kingdom of God. One needs to understand that the Greek word \u2018douloo\u2019 means \u2018bondman,\u2019 a person under a very tight, very serious contract. Thus, one has to take the job very seriously and cannot be casual about anything, and by doing so, can lose a lot. On the other hand, when doing the job, the person is paid\/rewarded.<\/p>\n
As ministers of the Kingdom of God, we are bondmen by our contract with Christ, for Christ did save us; our salvation from Hell (from sin) is free, but our salvation to enter Heaven is not free. We are called to bear fruit if we are to enter Heaven\/everlasting life.<\/p>\n
Let us not assume we will go to Heaven if we are not honouring our contract with Christ, who said love your brethren selflessly, as He has loved us, who also commanded us to preach His Gospel to the ends of this world, baptise them and build them in His Word.<\/p>\n

\nLord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, are a Merciful and Loving God. You had mercy on us, and by Your love You freed us and built us in You. You commanded us to do the same unto others so that they also may receive Your mercy and love and get everlasting life. Lord, we have received salvation from Hell for free by our faith in You, but pray we understand everlasting life is not free and comes at a cost of abiding in Your Word, in doing what You have commanded of us…<\/p>\n
