Whatever their status in this world or in the Kingdom of God, they are all equal before Him.

Cornelius was a Roman centurion; by his name, we knew he was of Greek birth. His name means ‘of a horn’, meaning ‘of a king’. He, through his interaction with the Jews, started believing in Jehovah and followed the principles of Jehovah. He is called a just man, even though he led a hundred Roman soldiers. He did charity, but his relationship with God precedes his charity, for his fear of God is mentioned before his deeds.

What is of great interest is when the Angel appeared to Cornelius, Cornelius was not asked to go to meet Peter, but was asked to call on Peter to meet him. Peter, who is considered a Man of God, was made to travel to meet Cornelius. People flocked to meet Peter, and some time before, they would be satisfied with just his shadow falling on the sick to receive healing.

If the Lord had told Cornelius to go and meet Peter, he would have never denied, but the Lord did not. More important is the fact that Peter, a Man of God, was not ready to meet Cornelius, not the other way. God had to open the mind of Peter, correct him to make him understand that all that God has created, be it animals or humans, are not unclean. It was through the vision that Peter had just before he met the representatives of Cornelius that Peter realised God was not just the God of the Jews but of all humankind.

After Peter, along with some Jewish brethren, went to meet Cornelius and they heard the testimony of Jesus from the mouth of Peter, immediately the Holy Spirit of God fell not just on Cornelius but also the other Romans who were closely associated with Cornelius, and they were baptised in the Holy Spirit, they received a Gift of the Spirit as a confirmation and started to speak in Tongues. This astonished even Peter and those who came with Peter. Peter immediately moved to get them water baptised.

In one religion, they have a saying, ‘if the mountain can not come to the prophet, then the prophet has to go to the mountain’. Here we see Cornelius, a Gentile, became the mountain; he was given more importance, and Peter, a Man of God, had to go to him.

Let no man think he is small in the Kingdom of God, nor any Man of God think he is great. Every soul is important to God, and God loves them all equally; it is their hatred against Him and His Kingdom that keeps them away from His love and into His wrath.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You are a Just God. You created all things Good. It is the evil in them that makes them bad and brings them into Your wrath. Lord we pray we too be no respecter of person. We pray we see You in them more than seeing who they are…

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 10

Dated 05 March 2026
Bro Rollwyn

Acts 10:7 And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

[1

post-747","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-blog
["GET
