Mark 8:5,6 And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven. And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before [them]; and they did set [them] before the people.<\/p>\n
Some days ago, I attended a housewarming; all the Pastors present were called to bless the house and were given oil. I saw some Pastors making the sign of the cross with the oil on the door. I was very uncomfortable doing that; I took the oil and anointed the house owner’s earlobe.<\/p>\n
In the OT, objects were blessed or concentrated because they were symbolic. In NT, we see that, other than the bread and wine at the Lord\u2019s Table, the bread (loaves) and fish before their multiplication were blessed. We know the bread and wine at the Lord\u2019s Table were symbolic of a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins (Sacrifice of Guilt), but why the loaves and fish?<\/p>\n
It is only when we understand the symbolism of numbers (Bible Numerics) that we will understand why they were blessed, and what they symbolise.<\/p>\n
In Bible Numerics, four symbolises the world, five symbolises man, and seven, which comes from the root word \u2018swear\u2019, symbolises something divine, for it refers to the seven Spirits of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is one yet functions as seven. Like light refracts in water to form the rainbow, so does the Spirit of God for the redemption of man. The foundation of the Church is the Holy Spirit (Spirit of truth), and Callings are based on the seven Spirits (six Callings + Lord as its head).<\/p>\n
For a worldly man, the multiplication of five loaves to feed five thousand men (plus women and children) would be a greater miracle than the seven loaves to feed four thousand men (plus women and children); but for a spiritual person, the second holds greater value.<\/p>\n
The Lord is telling us that man (5) in his wisdom can minister to men (5), and the outcome will be like iron sharpens iron (it does not do any good other than sparks and noise, to sharpen we need a material with stronger molecular bond), it is only when we minister with the Holy Spirit (7) that we minister beyond and to the whole world (4).<\/p>\n

\nLord, You are Almighty God. You are full of Wisdom which cannot be measured. Your Word delivers this Wisdom unto us when we walk in Your Spirit. Lord, we pray that we walk not according to our flesh but walk in Spirit, hearing what Your Spirit speaks to us and abiding in it. We pray we understand we cannot be Your Ministers unless Your Spirit burns within us, purifying us, destroying all that is worldly within us…<\/p>\n
