Matthew 20: 8-10 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them [their] hire, beginning from the last unto the first. And when they came that [were hired] about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.<\/p>\n
In the parable mentioned, the workers who came at the start, those who came in between, and those who worked for only an hour or less, all received a penny for the day\u2019s labour. Any person would consider it unjust since people are paid according to their labour.<\/p>\n
If we look a little closer into the parable, those who came at the start, at the beginning of the day, were told about getting a penny for their day\u2019s work. When we look at those who came in between (3rd and 6th hour) and those at the end did not ask how much they would be paid, they simply wanted work, and they trusted to be paid reasonably as instructed.<\/p>\n
If we understand that a penny was no small wage, for it was a Roman silver coin that was equivalent to the amount of money to buy 10 donkeys.<\/p>\n
The owner of the vineyard was not unjust to those who came in the start; they got more than they would have. Those who came later in between and at the end were shown favour since they trusted the owner for \u2018right\u2019 pay, they were more interested in working rather than getting a high pay.<\/p>\n
Everyone wants to be saved since they want eternal life, they do not want to die. They do not realize that eternal life can be the worse punishment a person can be given. Eternal life should not be the purpose but doing the Will of God should be, eternal life comes as a package with it.<\/p>\n
Without purpose life can be prison over time. Imagine living without looking forward for anything good. It is for this reason religions like Hinduism or Buddhism which confuse between good and bad look at death\/escape from life cycle as the purpose of life.<\/p>\n
Let not eternal life be our purpose to seek God or do His ministry, let us love and trust Him and everything that we do be out of our love for Him. He will surely not disappoint us when we stand before Him.<\/p>\n
I also mentioned all who are Called are not allocated the same job, each one is given a harvest, for some it is more and some less. We are provided (abilities, provisions and Gifts) according to our harvest, so let us not boast about our harvest. We will all be paid equally if we truly accomplish our harvest and pulled up for anything less.<\/p>\n

\nLord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, created us for a purpose according to things that are hidden from us. We pray, Lord, we learn to trust You for all that You have set for us and everything we do in Your Kingdom be out of love for You and Your Ways…<\/p>\n
