One of the biggest lies that exists in Christian Churches is what they are told about Hell, Heaven and the Lake of Fire (which very few talk of, most think it is the same as Hell). Even though these places are spiritual, they are given a natural rendering, which is that they are made of worldly material\/objects. They fail to understand that the descriptions that the Bible uses at times are symbolic and not verbatim.<\/p>\n
It was artists since the 14th century who graphically depicted Hell as a place ruled by Satan\/devils\/monsters. Even illustrations of Heaven misled many. The Lake of Fire is confused with Hell, since it is rarely taken up.<\/p>\n
Talk to any theologian, preacher, or \u2018Bible expert\u2019, and they make the simple mistake of assuming God the Father is seated in Heaven, not realising it was the Son who humbled Himself and created the Heavens, and all that exist and known to us. Even the Angels were created by the Son and they too have not seen the Father. The Father is truly Holy (Perfect), and only after we enter Heaven and our testimony in Christ perfects us, that we, along with the Angels, get to see the Father. The Son took on imperfection (humbled Himself) so that we are perfected in Him. Heaven is not an exotic resort made of gold streets or precious stones; it is a spiritual place that has no end to it.<\/p>\n
Hell was made for man who has sinned and exited the natural body, to hold his soul & spirit until his spirit’s life term (which is in thousands of years). Peter perfectly describes it as \u2018prison\u2019. It is not under the authority of devils but under the Angels of God. Lucifer (one of the Satans, which is plural) is bound there himself. Hellfire is not a fire that is outside, but within the souls; it is their sins within them that burn, and are described as never extinguishing burning coals\/never dying worms (Screwworms).<\/p>\n
Christ came in time and went to Hell to save the souls from the time of Noah as promised. Christ did not suffer there, since there was no sin in Him. Hell is a place for unbelievers, those who forsake God or are forsaken by Him.<\/p>\n
Lake of Fire, which is mentioned here, is not a place for unbelievers but for believers. It is a place where we do not suffer for our sins, since we are forgiven of our sins by our faith in Christ. Here, people suffer punishment for not abiding in the Word\/doing the mission\/witnessing Christ, in other words, for not following Him.<\/p>\n
The suffering in the Lake of Fire (outer darkness) is so terrible that it is also called the Lake of Sulphur. Over a period of time, man can adapt to pain, but sulphur is one thing which man can never overcome. It is for this reason described as a place where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. It comes up only on Judgement Day. It is a place made for the fallen Angels and not for man. But on Judgment Day, we transfigure into spirit beings (Angels\/angels) and thus are assigned likewise.<\/p>\n
It is only when we know God better and understand His plan for us that we will have better clarity of why He created us and the things that await us. So let us not take Christ and His sacrifice for granted. The price for doing that is worse than the punishment of Hell.<\/p>\n

Lord, we pray we understand the purpose You created us, it is then only we will realise the importance of abiding in Your Word and not just believing in You.
