Acts 10: 33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.<\/p>\n
Cornelius, a devout centurion of Caesarea, to whom God spoke in a vision, and to whom He sent Peter, who preached the gospel to him and to those he had invited. It led to their salvation; they received the Holy Spirit and were baptised. This thus became the first time Peter opened the door of the kingdom to the Gentiles, and for this, Peter had to be prepared.<\/p>\n
We see the words \u2018present before God\u2019 in today\u2019s scripture, but in various manuscripts like Beza\u2019s most ancient copy, and in the Vulgate Latin, Syriac, and Ethiopic versions, it is read “before thee”; before the apostle: to hear all things that are commanded thee of God; or “of the Lord,” as the Alexandrian copy and the Vulgate Latin versions read.<\/p>\n
I have mentioned before, most of the times the variations between manuscripts do not put us in doubt, instead give us a deeper and greater insight to the scripture.<\/p>\n
We see both Peter and Cornelius were spoken to in visions, both were prepared by the Lord for their encounter. This encounter resulted in not just Cornelius but also the people with him to accept the Lord and be baptized in Him.<\/p>\n
It was not just Peter but even Cornelius was witnessing what the Lord had spoken to each one of them. Both were messengers with a message to ach other, their coming together and confessing resulted in others accepting and committing themselves to the Lord.<\/p>\n
There will be times when we go out to minister to others and we ourselves will be ministered. We should always have an open heart to receive as we venture out to give.<\/p>\n

\nLord, You are Almighty God. You Lord are One God and there is none like You. Lord we pray we understand the things that are hidden from our sight. We pray we be open to correction even as we move out to correct others. We pray we always remember we are work in progress…<\/p>\n

\n12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
\n13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
\n14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
\n15 And the voice [spake] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, [that] call not thou common.
\n16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
\n34 Then Peter opened [his] mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
\n35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
\n44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them which heard the word.
\n45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit.
\n46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
\n47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Spirit as well as we?
\n48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.<\/p>\n
