Luke 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when [thine eye] is evil, thy body also [is] full of darkness.<\/p>\n
When we look at today\u2019s scripture, it sounds illogical, but people may say that what we see affects us is what it seems to imply. It is only when one is blessed with spiritual wisdom that one will understand it.<\/p>\n
The eye is a biological camera, a sensory organ that gathers light from your surroundings and turns it into electrical signals. Your brain then translates these signals into the images you actually see.<\/p>\n
It was during my study of the inner-man that I saw the whole structure of the inner-man reflected in the human eye, its structure and working.<\/p>\n
The Greek word translated as \u2018single\u2019 is the word \u2018haplous\u2019 and is a complex word of two words which mean \u2018union\u2019 + \u2018weave together\u2019. It seem to say \u2018tightly closed\/controlled\u2019 and the word \u2018evil\u2019 is the Greek word \u2018poneros\u2019 which roots from the word \u2018ponos\u2019 that means \u2018greatly troubled\u2019\/\u2019intense desire\u2019.<\/p>\n
In brief today\u2019s scripture instructs us that we will dwell in darkness if we do not tightly control what we see and pursue worldly\/carnal desires. They may seem good but in actual will fill us or plant seeds that fill us with darkness leading to faithlessness, hatred, lust, fornication, adultery, etc…<\/p>\n
[Prayer Starter]
\nLord, You are Almighty God. You are full of wisdom, which is beyond measure. You made all things in an image so that we can understand the things invisible to man. Lord, we pray we do not take what we see or seek to see very lightly. We pray we realize everything that enters us does have its effect on us so we pray we learn to control it…<\/p>\n
This prayer we make in Jesus\u2019 Name, Amen.<\/p>\n
