SUMMARY:Truth never dies
DESCRIPTION:2 John 1:2 For the truth’s sake\, which dwelleth {abides} in us\, and shall be with us for ever. \nHistory has been witness to many trying to bury or change the truth\, but always the truth has been revealed or sustained over time\, even if it is years or decades. \nBible says we are saved by faith\, and I have mentioned before that faith means believing in the truth. Thus\, without truth we can not be saved. John 1 says that Christ was the manifestation of truth and truth came by Him. \nIn the Bible\, truth is symbolised by the pomegranate fruit. If one studies it\, as we do with the mustard seed\, one will understand why the Lord demanded it be embroidered on the curtains of the Tabernacle. \nThe mustard seed was chosen not because of its size\, but because it has no gap or pocket of air between its halves. Air symbolises doubt (it is polluted); thus Satan is called the prince of air. Faith is not relevant by size but by purity. So if we have that which is without doubt\, then we have the power to move mountains (do the impossible). \nIf we open a pomegranate\, we will see that each seed/aril is shaped differently and has its own unique place. We cannot even turn it or move it to another place without causing air pockets (doubts). Like all scriptures\, they uniquely connect together. \nThe reason people live in falsehood even after studying the Bible is that they lack the basic principles of Bible study. When I came into the Lord\, the Lord prevented me from joining a Bible college and taught me based on Isaiah 28:9-11. \nWe read that the Israelites/Jews who had/have great knowledge and wisdom (worldly) and also knew/know all the Biblical languages\, unlike us today\, yet they could not/do not recognise Jesus as the Messiah\, as Yahweh. It was not just the OT but even in the NT Paul rebuked the Hebrew-speaking people in a letter written in Greek (Hebrews) that they were infants living on milk and could not consume solid food. \nIn Isaiah 28:13\, we see the Lord said the downfall of the Israelites was because of their stiff-neckedness; therefore\, the Lord did not reveal to them the fourth stage of Bible study (Bible symbolism\, Bible Codes\, Bible Numerics)\, and that became the reason for them not knowing Jesus was the promised Messiah and the Lord who came as man. \nWithout total surrender\, one will never understand the Bible. The Holy Spirit (Spirit of Truth) reveals the Scriptures only to those who self-abnegate. This is the case with all those who preach End Days/Judgment Day is at hand. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are Awesome God. There is nothing You cannot do\, yet You hold back many things from people\, for You do not keep precious things in unworthy vessels. SUMMARY:Cornelius\, a Just Man
DESCRIPTION:Acts 10: 22 And they said\, Cornelius the centurion\, a just man\, and one that feareth God\, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews\, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house\, and to hear words of thee. \nCornelius\, whose name is Latin (Greek/Roman)\, was a centurion of a band called the Italian\, which was stationed in Caesarea. He believed in the Lord and had a good report with the multitude of Jews that lived there. He had an encounter with the Lord such that the Angel of the Lord had appeared unto him\, asking him to call on Peter. We see later that Peter became a vessel of confirmation for Cornelius\, that the Lord is not just God of the Jews but all the world. Even Peter\, who was the vessel of this message\, was also a recipient of the same message. \nWhat we see here is that Cornelius is called a just man. The reason of him being a just/righteous man is also given as he feared God. That does not mean he was fully righteous\, but it meant that he followed righteousness\, as to what he knew and understood\, he followed. \nBible says fear of the Lord is the start of wisdom. Wisdom\, we know\, brings understanding. Thus fear of God gets us to know God more\, and that helps us grow in Him. As we grow in Him\, we understand and grow in love\, and the fear is gradually replaced with love. \nPeople who think they can become righteous without fear of God are foolish. They do not realise what they call love is not actually love. They mistake emotions\, compassion\, attraction\, obsession/fixation\, dependency\, etc. as love. They will be surprised to know what love is\, as I was after years of deep Bible study. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You alone\, Lord\, are Holy\, Righteous and Truth. Lord\, we pray that we realise\, as Your Spirit guides us in the Truth\, we become eligible for Righteousness. It is fear of God that makes us receive wisdom which brings understanding. SUMMARY:Deceivers
DESCRIPTION:2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come]\, except there come a falling away first\, and that man of sin be revealed\, the son of perdition; \nYesterday’s message warned us of heretics\, people who twist scriptures for their materialist or carnal benefits. They may sound knowledgeable but do not really benefit anyone\, even themselves. \nToday’s scripture speaks of another larger lot of people who lack knowledge yet show themselves to be knowledgeable. They are misled and thus mislead others. They are called deceivers. The verb used here is a compound verb which means out + to cheat; it comes from the root uncertain\, obscure. \nThese people themselves are not clear themselves yet they show they walk in clarity. They will fail several times yet walk in confidence time and again. \nIf you find any Preacher claiming end times are at hand\, I advise you to distance yourself from that Preacher. The confusion in that person will cause greater confusion in you. \nPaul wrote 2 letters to the Church of Thessalonica; the first letter was to warn them of Judgment Day\, but they assumed it was actually at hand. Some of these misunderstood people started misleading others more\, so he had to write his second letter to them clarifying that unless the chain of events happens\, the end is not at hand. \nWhen Jesus was also asked about the end\, He did say no one other than God knows the day and hour\, yet He spoke about it for He knew the day/period and knew the hour/actual day of the year but did not know the day and hour (day of which year). \nBible gives a lot of information about the period in various places\, and they all sync on that. As of today\, the period has a window of 200 years\, but as we come near to it\, we will have a narrower period. As for the hour/day of the year\, we are all clearly told of it since there is a feast celebrated regarding it\, which is the Feast of Trumpets. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Light; You do not desire Your children to be walking in darkness; thus You gave us Your Word\, which is a lamp to our feet and light to our path. It gives us not only instructions about our personal lives but also about the times we live in and will come across. SUMMARY:First and Second Admonition
DESCRIPTION:Titus 3: 9-10 But avoid foolish questions\, and genealogies\, and contentions\, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; \nWe see Paul calls a person who debates scriptures\, argues/creates conflict a heretic (one who twists scriptures for their own benefit)! \nIf one sees Paul himself with Barnabas debated Jewish Christians who claimed\, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses\, you cannot be saved”. In Athens\, Paul reasoned in the synagogues with Jews and God-fearing Greeks\, and daily in the marketplace. Paul debated Epicurean and Stoic philosophers\, famously using the altar dedicated “To the Unknown God” to preach about the resurrection and the true Creator. Paul also spent three months in the synagogue in Ephesus boldly debating and arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God before facing heavy opposition. \nWas Paul being a hypocrite\, paradoxical\, one who contradicts oneself? \nOne needs to read in Scripture that Paul mentions the purpose of debating: if it is not profitable\, something that edifies\, then it is questionable. It is not only what one talks about but also with whom one talks matters. One cannot debate a wall; stiff-necked\, deaf ears\, hardened heart\, it will profit no one\, instead cause damage. \nLet us realise the knowledge and understanding of the Bible is precious\, and like Jesus said\, not for pigs (those who do not discern). Although the animal has a larger nose than many other animals\, it cannot discern what it eats. So we should not go by people’s education\, status or their profile but by their heart. Let us not throw pearls before them; if we continue to do so\, then we will become a heretic. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are Truth. Knowledge and Understanding that comes from You are more precious than gold and precious gems. SUMMARY:Faith and Love
DESCRIPTION:Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye\, being rooted and grounded in love\, \nPeople think just because they attend Church\, call themselves Christians\, hope for salvation in Christ\, say prayers\, give alms\, etc.\, Christ dwells in them/their hearts/inner-man. \nToday’s scripture says 2 factors define whether Christ dwells in us\, and these are faith and love. \nIt is not hope or belief but faith. Hope is when we believe in something whether it is true or not. Belief is when we believe in something handed down to us by man\, like traditions. Faith\, unlike them\, is believing that which is true\, that which does not change; in other words\, God or that which comes from God. Hope can be blind\, but there is nothing like blind faith. Belief does not need God to be in the picture\, but without God there is no faith. \nLove is not the emotions that we excrete in our words or by action. Love\, if understood\, is the will to edify and build another. To will is the strongest desire\, that which stirs our lives. So if we do not will the Kingdom of God or those of His Kingdom\, then we do not love God. \nIt is only when we grow in truth and understanding of the Kingdom of God that our faith will grow\, and our love/our will will be shaped better/ will be more effective. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, do not change\, for You are Truth and Holy. Truth does not change\, nor that which is Perfect. Lord\, we pray we do not dwell in hope or belief and assume You dwell in us. It is only when we put on Your Name/Nature that You dwell in us\, and the root of it is faith and love. SUMMARY:Precious Blood
DESCRIPTION:1 Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ\, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: \nWhen we look up the word blood in Greek\, it speaks of actual blood; it also refers to the shedding of blood\, meaning sacrifice\, and in Hebrew the word comes from the root word to die /be still\, which also refers to a sacrifice. \nIt is in pagan religions that they seek actual blood in their rituals. In the OT\, they had no understanding of symbolism; thus\, they practised in letter and were destroyed. \nWe see even today many pray for protection from Satan or evil by covering themselves\, their family\, their house\, their vehicles\, their assets\, etc. with the blood of Jesus Christ. They do not realise they are demeaning the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Lord became our sacrifice to make peace between God and man; His blood/sacrifice saves us from the wrath of God. It is very precious and can be belittled by using it for protection from Satan; when we do that\, we are equating Satan to God. \nWhen Jesus asked us to eat His flesh and drink His blood\, it did not mean actual human flesh nor human blood. The Hebrew word for ‘flesh’ comes from the root meaning ‘message’. Thus He meant we eat (chew on and understand) His message\, making it our message/our flesh. The Greek word ‘drink’ roots from the meaning ‘to receive in one’s soul’. So drinking His blood speaks of accepting His sacrifice deep in one’s heart/inner-man. \nLet us understand the value of the blood/sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ and understand the power it holds in making a way to restore us to our Heavenly Father. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You humbled Yourself to become one of us so that we become more like You. You became our perfect sacrifice so that we are perfected in You through Your Spirit. SUMMARY:A Sacrifice He prepared
DESCRIPTION:Hebrews 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world\, he saith\, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not\, but a body hast thou prepared me: \nWhen people look at the crucifixion of Jesus\, they are more emotionally driven than by understanding. What they grasp is less than 20 per cent of that which He suffered\, yet they get heartbroken. Then some people try to imitate the crucifixion and suffering\, which they assume and indirectly mock His sacrifice. \nThe quantum of natural pain and suffering is not the crux of His suffering\, which leads us to our salvation. What we need to do is understand that He fulfilled all the sacrifices in the books of Moses and thus enabled us to be freed from all that man was and is suffering. \nEven if someday someone manages to suffer more than Christ did\, that person cannot take the place of Christ\, for none can match the criteria required. It is for this reason that the Lord Himself provided for us a perfect sacrifice. \nIt is only when we understand His sacrifice that we will be able to draw more and be greatly restored in Him. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Holy God. You created us unto holiness\, something that looks impossible. SUMMARY:Be not idolaters
DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 10: 7 Neither be ye idolaters\, as [were] some of them; as it is written\, The people sat down to eat and drink\, and rose up to play. \nIdol worship\, if clearly understood\, is a decoy with the prime purpose of avoiding facing the truth. \nWhen man makes idols for worship\, they are trying to reverse the truth that God made man out of dust and put life into it to bring it alive; they are making a god out of it and trying to put life into it by their imagination and actions. They are trying to play god over god. \nThe rituals that they do are basically to cloud the spiritual things they need to do. The prayers they chant on beads (like a rosary) are a perfect example of methods to kill prayer while assuming they are praying. \nThey offer flowers\, food\, incense\, candles\, etc.\, because they cannot offer themselves\, their desires as a sacrifice. They love this life too much to sacrifice it. They come up with concepts like Karma\, which indirectly denies Hell and Heaven\, by stating that the good and bad deeds are rewarded in this life itself. \nIf seen clearly\, all idolatry is mostly about worshipping things of this natural world\, focusing more on worshipping man. Satan is too smart to direct worship directly to himself; his goal of the destruction of man is more important than wanting the worship of man. Getting a man to do evil is enough worship for him. \nLet us always remember God is Spirit\, and the only way to worship Him is in Spirit and Truth. Let us not be deceived by rituals\, traditions\, or anything that is repetitively done\, even if taking the name of God and the Bible. Even Biblical statutes can become rituals if done continuously without understanding. They all get counted as idolatry. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are Spirit and Your Kingdom is the Spirit world. This natural world and all that exists in it is made for a purpose\, and when the purpose is fulfilled in man\, they will cease to exist. DESCRIPTION:Mark 8:32 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him\, and began to rebuke him. \nAfter Jesus spoke about His suffering and death to His disciples\, we find Peter taking Jesus aside and rebuking Him. It was not a plea to Him not to do it\, but more of a shout. To this\, we find Jesus looks at His disciples (He was aware they could hear it) and rebukes Peter back saying\, ‘Get thee behind me\, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God\, but the things that be of men’. \nWe see Jesus compares the counsel of man to that of Satan. \nWe see in the world that people often equate moral principles with humane principles\, or vice versa. They do not realise moral principles do not change despite the situation\, but over time\, humane principles have. \nHumane values and principles have improved in many areas\, and at the same time deteriorated in many other areas. We find improvement in areas like Civil Rights\, Environmental Consciousness\, Animal Welfare\, and Mental Health Awareness… but then deterioration in areas like Attention Span & Patience (driven by short-form digital media and instant gratification)\, Interpersonal Connection\, Truth & Objective Reality\, Civic Empathy & Polarisation… \nSo we see the more important factors we have deteriorated\, and in some places\, under the excuse of civil rights\, we are included immortal things. \nSo if people call a Christian inhumane\, be not surprised\, but be cautious of any Christian who is known for fostering humane values. We as Christians are called to stand on moral values which are stated in the Bible and not humane values; for in the guise of humane\, we find Satan doing his work. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. SUMMARY:Baptism and Counsel of God
DESCRIPTION:Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves\, being not baptized of him. \nIn today’s scripture\, we see the Pharisees and lawyers (interpreters and teachers of the Mosaic law) did not accept the counsel of God because they were not baptised (John’s baptism in water)\, while in the previous scripture not just the people but even the publicans (tax collectors – considered most evil/corrupt like in today’ politicians) abided in counsel of God showing a link between baptism and abiding in the counsel of God. \nFirstly\, we need to understand that water baptism was not founded by John the Baptist (2nd cousin of Jesus) but by John of Maccabees\, who was the founder of the Pharisees movement. To be enrolled as a Pharisee\, they had to be baptised in water or sand. Baptism in water did not mean just being dipped like we do today\, but the person was held under water for a period and on coming up\, could experience a life-and-death experience. Even in sand\, they were buried and left for a period before being dug up. \nJohn the Baptist was telling them their baptism was a ritual\, and they needed a baptism of repentance\, even though they were repeating the same thing. Our knowledge of God is not what counts\, but our obedience to Him counts. \nWe as Christians need to think when we take baptism\, are we doing what the Pharisees did as a ritual or is our baptism that of John the Baptist\, where we surrender unto the Lord\, to His counsel. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. DESCRIPTION:Luke 20:38 For he is not a God of the dead\, but of the living: for all live unto him. \nBible says God is Spirit. The word translated as spirit is the word breath\, and breath does not refer to the air that we breathe in and out\, but symbolises the life within. \nGod is Life; all life comes from Him or is made by Him. He alone has life within Himself\, while all\, including those in Heaven\, receive a period of life. But since they dwell in Heaven\, they have access to the Tree/River of Life and can renew their lives as and when necessary; therefore\, they can live eternally. \nWhen a person dies\, their spirit continues to live until its term\, which is thousands of years\, so either they go to Hell (if they do not believe in the Lord) or sleep in Him (if they believe). Those who go to Hell are condemned to death; they suffer their sins until that life term is over\, then they cease to exist. Those who sleep in Him rise on Judgment Day to be separated from those who abided in His Word (sheep) and those who did not (goats). The sheep enter Heaven while the goats are cast into the Lake of Fire/Sulphur\, where they suffer not their sins but punishment from God\, and it is worse than them suffering their own sins\, since this place\, unlike Hell\, was not made for man but for the fallen angels. DESCRIPTION:Revelation 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last\, which was dead\, and is alive; \nSpiritual blindness is evident from the fact that the Church has not yet understood the 7 letters. There are hardly a handful of people who have realised the letters tell us of the timeline of the Church\, right from the days of the Apostles unto Judgment Day\, from Ephesians to Laodicea. \nI was fortunate that the Lord revealed the letters to me in great detail just before the pandemic\, and I spoke of it before it was announced by the WHO. Believe me\, I was not at all shaken when it hit; understanding of the letters also prepared me for the disasters that we are experiencing and those many which are yet to come. \nThe greatest clue to the 7 letters being the timeline of the Church is their names. If one has little knowledge of Church history\, they would see it. \nEphesians – Authorised – the era starting with the Apostles and Callings taken over by Nicolaitan (Priestly hierarchy\, a fusion of Jewish and Roman/Greek system) (30AD to 300AD)\nSmyrna – Myrrh – bitter-tasting\, aromatic gum which numbs the body if taken in mild doses and can kill if taken in larger doses over a period. The birth of the Catholic Church (300AD – 400AD)\nPergamos – Elevated – Known as the ‘Dark Ages’ (400AD – 1500AD)\nThyatira – Odour of affliction – Reformation movement and persecution of Christians at hand of the Catholic Church (1500AD – 1700AD)\nSardis – Red ones – Evangelical movement (1700AD – 2017AD)\nPhiladelphia – Brotherly Love – the coming together of the Church (2017AD – <>2200-2300AD)\nLaodicea – Justice/Judgment of the People – Period just before Judgment Day (<>2200/2300 AD – 2400-2500AD) \nAlso the Lord did not as John of Patmos to make individual letters and send to their respective Churches but put them in one book and send them (collectively) to the Churches. \nToday’s scripture talks of the period between 300AD – 400AD when the Church of Christ was sent into exile\, and the Catholic Church was founded. It was during this period that the Koine Greek (common man’s Greek) Bibles were destroyed\, and the Latin (Greek used by high society) translations by the Catholic Church were the only ones allowed\, thereby controlling the interpretation of scripture. It was in this period that the fusion of pagan Roman and Greek doctrines\, traditions\, etc.\, was fused into Christianity\, many of which still continue in Believer Churches. \nPeople are brainwashed to believe the word Catholic (katholikos) means ‘universal’; they do not know it is a compound word meaning ‘part of the whole’. The roots of denominations date back to the time of the Apostles\, and we see Paul complaining about it. In 150 AD\, we have records of whole Churches known by their denominations. The Church of Rome was the largest denomination\, thus referred to as ‘Catholic’ / katholikos by Ignatius of Antioch. \nSmyrna is called the temple of Satan and later became the throne of Satan during Pergamos. \nLet us be vigilant of the doctrines which have roots in this era and which we continue to refer to as ‘Christian’. Let us cut off these roots of Satan which\, like thistles\, destroy our spiritual growth. \nTomorrow\, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of Bonaventure\, a bishop and theologian of the Catholic Church who in the 1480s set the new pathway of what we see today as Catholic doctrines. DESCRIPTION:Luke 7:28 For I say unto you\, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. \nJohn the Baptist was Elijah\, who was taken up and had not seen death. As Elijah\, he is known as the greatest Prophet amongst men because he alone did almost all the miracles that Moses or Jesus did. But before the Lord\, he as John the Baptist\, is considered greater because he repented of the things he did as Elijah\, and humbled himself before the Lord. His life of repentance was the reason for the things he did as Elijah. Elijah is the only Prophet rebuked by Jesus\, but as John\, was greatly praised by Jesus \nIn today’s scripture\, we see Jesus say we can also be greater than John the Baptist in the Kingdom\, and the way to that is to be the least. \nTo be least does not mean to be nothing. The word used here does not refer to quality but to quantity. It comes from the word less (as in numbers). \nTo be the least is about putting others before you; it also does not mean putting yourself behind. It is about giving priority to others more than we give priority to ourselves. We should realise it is less of me\, I\, or mine\, and whatever we do should be about building the Body of Christ and ourselves. The Spiritual Gifts we ask for or the things of the Kingdom which we seek\, should be more for the benefit of the Body of Christ than to make ourselves better. \nIt may sound easy\, but believe me\, it is not; it requires a lot of sacrifice\, and without love (the will to benefit others\, which we learned yesterday) and understanding\, it is not possible. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are Spirit and Your Kingdom is a Spirit world. You look less at the external and more at the internal. You see our thoughts and value our hearts more than anything. DESCRIPTION:1 John 4: 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God\, and God in him. \nPreachers speak of Agape being Father’s love / God’s kind of love and Agapao as human love. They err in this because of their lack of knowledge of the Greek language. ‘Agape’ is the Greek word for the verb ‘love’\, and ‘Agapao’ is a conjugation of the verb and means ‘I love’. \nMan did not know the meaning of love until the Lord came as a man\, Jesus and manifested love. That means we have started to know love. It may shock people to realize even after 2000 years people yet err to understand love i.e. they say ‘love is sacrifice’\, they do not realize sacrifice is a outcome cause of love and not love itself. \nLike it is written ‘God is love’ so also it is written ‘God is good’. They both connect so much that we mix one with the other. \nLike I said before it was only some days back I discovered love is the will to do good. It is only when we dig into scriptures of the OT and NT that we will understand this. SUMMARY:Forgiving in the person of Christ
DESCRIPTION:2 Corinthians 2:10 To whom ye forgive any thing\, I [forgive] also: for if I forgave any thing\, to whom I forgave [it]\, for your sakes [forgave I it] in the person of Christ; \nPeople think forgiving is forgetting. In Hebrew\, the word means ‘to bear’\, ‘to lift up’\, but in Greek it becomes more interesting. The word ‘charizomai’ in Greek\, translated as ‘forgive ’\, means ‘to do something pleasant or agreeable’ and comes from the root word ‘grace’\, ‘goodwill ’\, which further means ‘to rejoice’. \nWe need to understand the seriousness of not forgiving and the power of forgiving. To forgive a person is to restore that person\, and to not forgive is to condemn that person. Forgiving a person is showing grace which we ourselves receive from the Lord. \nIt is only when we understand this that we will understand why Jesus said in the prayer Our Father that unless we forgive others\, we may be deprived of our own forgiveness. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. DESCRIPTION:Galatians 2: 17 But if\, while we seek to be justified by Christ\, we ourselves also are found sinners\, [is] therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. \nThe word translated as ‘justified’ is the Greek word ‘dikaioo’\, which means ‘to render righteous’. \nSin corrupted us; Christ came as man to put us on the path of restoration. He also\, by His sacrifice\, made available His Spirit (Holy Spirit)\, who does the work of guiding us and help us in the actual restoration so that we can be eligible to enter Heaven. \nChrist’s relationship with sin can be equated to a doctor’s relationship with sickness. The doctor does not encourage sickness but helps us overcome it. The doctor may tolerate sickness in mild quantity\, for he knows none are perfect\, but in Christ\, that is not an option. SUMMARY:Dwell by Faith\, Rooted and Grounded by Love
DESCRIPTION:Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye\, being rooted and grounded in love\, \nChrist dwelling in us requires two things: faith and love\, which is what today’s scripture tells us. \nFaith is misunderstood as just believing. What we believe in and how strong that belief is defines the difference between faith and hope. It is only when we believe in the truth strongly that it becomes faith; otherwise\, it is hope. When that hold is unshakeable\, it becomes authority. Jesus was called a man of authority and not a man of faith. \nSome days back\, as I was helping my daughter prepare her notes to preach on the Fruit Goodness. While doing so\, we needed to identify the difference between Love and Kindness\, and it was enlightening to get clarity. \nLove is the will we hold towards doing good that benefits / edifies the recipient. Paul says\, if love/that will does not exist\, then all other things are meaningless. \nAnother interesting fact that is mentioned is the use of the words rooted and grounded. In English\, they may seem the same\, but when we look up the Greek words and their root meanings\, it gives clarity as to why both words are used. \nWe understand them when we understand how the foundation of a tall building is done. One has to dig deep and also make sure it is rooted in rock and not mud or loose stones. Secondly\, the foundation needs to be stabilised\, else shaking\, even like a small earthquake\, can bring that structure down. \nRooted speaks of setting the foundation on a strong base\, and grounding speaks of stabilising it. Rooting may be a one-time effort\, but grounding requires continuous monitoring and change. \nHaving Christ dwelling in us is not simple but a continuous effort and a clear understanding of Him and His Kingdom (the Word of God). \nSo let us not be delusional to claim Christ dwells in us if we are not studying His Word and putting it in practice. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You Lord are Truth and Light. We pray Lord\, we seek Light by seeking the understanding Your Word. We pray also that we realise the understanding will truly come when we abide in Your Word. SUMMARY:Call on the Father
DESCRIPTION:1 Peter 1: 17 And if ye call on the Father\, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work\, pass the time of your sojourning [here] in fear: \nThe term Father is used for God because he is our creator\, preserver\, guardian and protector. \nPeople fail to see that God The Son is the one who created us and all that which exists. OT has scriptures that point to the Lord Jesus Christ as Father. \nThe Son came from the Father; thus\, they are the same. The only difference between them is that the Son humbled Himself before He created all that exists. Had He not humbled Himself\, then all that He created would not be able to exist and would be completely destroyed; this we will understand only when we understand Him and what Holiness means. \nLast Sunday\, I was disappointed to see a person whom I admired for his historical knowledge fall into the trap of calling Polycarp\, the Bishop of Smyrna\, a direct disciple of John the Apostle. It is an open fact that Polycarp was born in 69 AD and was martyred in 155 AD\, in a horrific way. We also have an estimate of John’s existence\, and\, going by that\, Polycarp would be a small kid groomed by the Apostle John! \nThe reason the Catholic Church has played this game is that there is a doctrine of Polycarp regarding the divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ\, which they promote/follow. This helps them to run their agenda of making Mary the ‘Mother of God’. \nA child grows into a man\, but that does not mean the man is a child or the child was a man. The transformation separates them and is the same as when God The Son separated from the Father and humbled Himself in the beginning; later He humbled Himself again to become man. Although It os the same being\, yet they cannot be equated to be the same; that is why we find places Jesus rebukes people when they worship Him or call Him Holy/Good\, a property assigned only to God. \nIt is hard for people to understand scriptures like John 1:18 since they do not distinguish between God The Father from Son\, even though they are the same. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. There is no one like You. You humbled Yourself and created all things. You became Your creations as You became man. Lord\, we pray we realise as man You were totally man and without blemish yet not Perfect. For You gave up Perfection so that we too may one day be able to acquire perfection in You. SUMMARY:Children of Israel
DESCRIPTION:Acts 10:36 The word which [God] sent unto the children of Israel\, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) \nThe word Isra means “Prince” or “one with power/authority\,” and El is used for God. Thus\, Israel means “Prince of God” / “one having authority in the Lord”; in other words\, it speaks of a Son of God. \nIsrael was a promise to Jacob\, which was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. He was/is the first ‘Israel’. We who are in Christ receive this promise\, and as we grow spiritually\, we become more and more Israel. \nThe race that Paul speaks of us running\, the goal post is to become Israel. I have mentioned before\, even though just 2 reach the goal post\, yet all those who ran the race till they sleep in Christ\, are considered in the winning team (like a relay race). Thus\, if a person does not witness Christ and keeps fighting their own battle with their inner-man is not considered in the team. \nLet us understand that we all who are in Christ are Children of Israel\, running the race to become Israel\, and as children of Israel\, we preach the message of peace of the Lord Jesus Christ. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. SUMMARY:The Cause
DESCRIPTION:Hosea 4:13 They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains\, and burn incense upon the hills\, under oaks and poplars and elms\, because the shadow thereof [is] good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom\, and your spouses shall commit adultery. \nMost of the time\, whenever I preach\, I have to restrain myself from being blunt and speaking the bare truth. As Jesus spoke in parables\, so as not to destroy them but to let them absorb as much as they can\, I\, too\, need to give titbits of the truth and not the whole. \nLast Sunday I was preaching in a service\, and the Lord gave me the topic ‘hate’. A simple topic like this is also difficult to teach\, so I had to dilute it\, and just before I could take the stage\, while the worship was going on\, I was surprised to see a leech crawling on the floor. Then the Lord opened my mind to the relationship between hate and a leech. Half my preaching was instantly changed\, taking the leech as its centre. Before that\, I was worried\, would they be able to swallow what I came with? \nIt will shock a person when he or she truly opens their eyes and sees what they are doing in the name of ‘Christianity’. How their lack of understanding of scriptures makes them do things contrary to the Word of God. They follow the words of man blindly and do not confirm with the Word of God. \nToday’s scripture tells us the immorality that exists in this world is rooted in the wrong relationship with God\, not just of the children but also of the parents. They worship Baal/Baali (an unknown god) more than the Living God. Even after the Lord came as man (Ishi) to manifest Himself\, still they do not see Him or know Him. They are stuck with the man Jesus and do not move ahead to know Christ\, let alone know Him as Lord. This problem is not with small churches but even with top Preachers and leaders. It really saddens me to see the state even after 2000years of the coming of Christ. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are Truth and Light; there is no darkness in You. Lord\, we pray that we break the bonds of worldly knowledge that darkens our knowing the truth. We pray\, we trust You and Your Word alone and not the words of man\, whoever they be. SUMMARY:Do not be morally corrupt
DESCRIPTION:2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves\, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves\, how that Jesus Christ is in you\, except ye be reprobates? \nPreviously in business\, I used to handle a lot in sales\, but after coming to the Lord\, it became difficult to lie and oversell\, which is standard in sales. I moved more to services\, but nowadays we see even in services here are people who do not hesitate to lie. They will commit and then deny. They will present falsehood as reality just to blame others for their incompetence. They suppress the truth with shouting and threats. \nEtiquettes\, honesty\, and ownership of one’s responsibilities are things that are becoming passé. People think that by shouting and cursing\, they can show dominance; by lying\, they can escape situations; by blaming others\, they can save their neck and hide their irresponsible behaviour. \nThe saddest moment for me is to see Believers do this. It makes me think about who they believe in and who they are following. Is Christianity just a religion for them? I fear what God will do with them on Judgment Day. \nIf we do not have moral values\, then we cannot call ourselves Christian. Our moral status should not be humane but Godly. Our values are supposed to be very high than that of others\, others should see Christ in us. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Holy God. You alone are Perfect is all ways. Lord we pray we understand we whom You call as your children are to project You in us. We too are called to be prefect as much as we are able to. SUMMARY:Do not seek only silver
DESCRIPTION:Matthew 27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple\, and departed\, and went and hanged himself. \nIn Revelation\, we find Heaven has gold and precious stones but not silver. The precious stones are not precious because they are costly. There are some more costly stones than the ones mentioned that Heaven is made of. The stones are symbolic\, and people will be shocked to know what they represent (they are connected to the 12 tribes of Israel\, but they\, too\, were symbolic of something mentioned in NT). \nGold symbolises spiritual wealth\, while silver symbolises earthly wealth. This wealth need not be just monetary; it can also include skills\, social status\, fame\, beauty\, personality\, etc. \nJudas\, only after making the grave mistake\, realised that silver has no value in death. He forsook the Lord for some silver coins and was sorry\, but did not repent (make good)\, thus was considered as a lost soul. \nBible does not say silver is evil; it was used in vessels which were sacred along with gold vessels unto the Lord. \nWe need to understand the limitations of silver and know it is important\, but then it is something of use only while we dwell in these earthly bodies. But when it comes to gold\, it is deposited in our Heavenly account and can gain us a high crown in Heaven. Heaven is not a flat place but has levels\, so to be closer to the glory of the Lord\, we need to seek the higher levels/high crown. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You alone are God and Creator of all things that exist. Everything You created is not by chance but by intention\, with purpose. So even the things of this world are created for us to understand the things which we can not see. Lord\, we pray we do not blindly seek things but understand what we seek and why we seek them. We pray we do not be foolish to seek silver over gold or to ignore its importance completely. DESCRIPTION:John 2:3 And when they wanted wine\, the mother of Jesus saith unto him\, They have no wine. \nIn English\, when we use the term wine\, it automatically means fermented grape juice or that of other fruits or grains; it could be flavoured or plain. But\, surprisingly\, Bible translators under the influence of the Catholic Church translated grape juice also as wine. DESCRIPTION:James 5: 19\, 20 Brethren\, if any of you do err from the truth\, and one convert him; Let him know\, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death\, and shall hide a multitude of sins. \nChristians think they can be corrected only by their Pastor or Church elders\, and Pastors can be corrected only by their mentors or by God Himself. This understanding is in line with Catholic Church doctrine and not Biblical doctrine. \nBiblically\, the right to correct depends on Calling and spiritual maturity. A person with a higher Calling can correct those whom he or she serves. Like an Apostle can correct a Prophet\, or Prophet a Teacher\, a Teacher an Evangelist… \nBut also a person skilled in a specific domain can correct those higher in hierarchy\, like a Teacher when it comes to Biblical understanding\, a Prophet regarding prophecies\, an Apostle in Kingdom administration… \nSpiritual maturity is also a key factor and is not a constant parameter. A person who was spiritually mature but is backsliding is considered spiritually low\, and such a person can be corrected by anyone spiritually stable. That means if a Pastor is doing something wrong and continuing in it\, then even his congregation can correct him or her. It does not mean just accuse them before all. Jesus gave a process in Matthew 18:15-17 that we need to follow. We need to correct out of love\, with goodness and gentleness. \nCorrecting another Believer is not an option but a duty of every Christian. Today’s scripture tells us that when we correct a Brethren we do not just save them from a multitude of sins\, we also save their souls. If we do not\, then their blood will be on our hands\, and we will have to answer for it on Judgment Day. Understand\, knowing or being aware of the downfall of a Brethren and not correcting them makes us party to the death of that Brethren. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. DESCRIPTION:2 Corinthians 9:14 And by their prayer for you\, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you. \nWhen we read this\, one tends to assume the scripture demonstrates the power of prayer ministry\, wherein one sits in a room\, praying continuously\, and things happen. \nBoth Jesus and Paul highlighted the importance and power of prayer\, but both their ministries were focused on going out to reach people in public places\, in their houses\, and in various places\, and ministering to them. \nPrayer is the ignition; it opens doors\, breaks barriers\, brings down strongholds\, but then we still need to reach out\, minister to people so that they\, too\, experience the power of God and do the same. \nWhen we come to Christ\, we are set free from the bondage of sin\, but one thing people do not understand is that to remain free\, we are called to get into another bondage. We were slaves of sin\, and after we are set free by knowing Christ\, to remain free\, we need to become slaves to men. \nTo remain free from sin\, we need to take the burden of Christ\, and in the process of carrying it we become more like Him and fulfil the scripture\, who the Son sets free is free indeed. \nIf we do not do what the Son has asked of us\, then how can we be set free? \nToday’s scripture translates the Greek word ‘deesis’\, which means want\, seeking\, asking\, as ‘prayer’. DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 10: 7 Neither be ye idolaters\, as [were] some of them; as it is written\, The people sat down to eat and drink\, and rose up to play. \nThe word ‘Idolatry’ comes from the words ‘serving’ + ‘idols’. It is when we bow\, kiss\, and offer food or flowers or burn candles\, incense\, anything or any act to believe an idol has life is considered idolatry. Idols need not be just statues; they can be pictures or simple objects like money\, vehicles\, houses\, jewellery\, electronic devices\, etc… \nWhat is interesting is that even people\, animals or religious symbol actually replace that which it represents is considered idolatry. Like a Man of God is given the place of God in one’s life\, then it is idolatry\, or a dove is thought to be the Holy Spirit is idolatry or bowing to a crucifix or kissing it is also idolatry. \nToday’s scripture speaks of the celebrations/festivals connected to idolatry. They can be either joyful or sorrowful\, both count as a celebration. One may say even God ordained festivals\, so did He promote idolatry? \nBiblical festivals are statutes\, which means they are celebrated to understand its purpose and once the purpose is understood one is not called to celebrate them. They were for the children of Israel and not for Israel. That means we who are mature in spirit are called to celebrate festivals with those growing in spirit and not for us to celebrate amongst ourselves. So Men or Women of God do not celebrate festivals unless they are doing so with those growing spiritually. \nIn idolatry the celebration is a ritual and activity if not done\, leads to condemnation either physically\, mentally or spiritually. \nI mentioned before that in Hebrew\, every letter of the alphabet is an ideogram and symbolise objects or actions. For example\, the word YHWH means ‘Behold Hand Behold Nail’ (Christ). When we decode the word idol in Hebrew\, it comes as ‘Power of Darkness’. \nThe second Commandment says we cannot make an image (symbolical or actual) of anyone in Heaven\, on Earth or one who is dead\, and serve it. So making a statue of someone as Jesus Christ and serving it is Idolatry. \nLet us be careful\, many put a Man of God (dead or alive) in high esteem\, almost as God\, then they will not go to Heaven\, contrary to what they assume. It is considered idolatry\, and Heaven is no place for idolaters. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Spirit\, and Heaven is a spiritual place. Spirit has no form that can be put in an image\, but only an image that can be lived. Lord\, we pray that we understand that perfect worship is when we live Your Image in us\, not when we make temples\, synagogues\, or altars in Your name. DESCRIPTION:Ezekiel 24:16 Son of man\, behold\, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep\, neither shall thy tears run down. \nWe see the Lord was very angry with the people and asked Ezekiel to prophecy about the suffering that was to come on them. What may come as shocking was that Ezekiel was told that\, as he was delivering this prophecy\, the Lord was taking away that which he desired the most\, which was his beautiful wife\, also that he would neither mourn nor weep. \nPeople may wonder whether the Lord is so tyrannical that He had the unmerited loss of what Ezekiel loved the most. \nThe Lord wanted Ezekiel to feel that what He felt\, His people were as dear to Him as Ezekiel’s wife was to him. The Lord wanted him and us to experience what the Lord experiences when His people go astray. \nWe need to understand that when we are punished after numerous warnings\, it does not please God to do so. It pains Him greatly\, but then to save us from greater destruction\, He needs to do so. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You created us in Your Image. SUMMARY:Who is a greater sinner?
DESCRIPTION:John 9:24 Then again called they the man that was blind\, and said unto him\, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. \nIn today’s scripture\, we see the Jews gave praise to God for healing the young blind man\, but then accused him of being blind because he was a sinner. \nThe Jews knew that none were free of sin\, thus drowned themselves in rituals to cover their sinfulness. What they meant by saying he was a sinner was that he had sinned gravely and thus was punished with blindness. Later\, when they heard he was blind from birth\, they accused the parents of being grave sinners. \nSickness is indeed related to sin; it was only when man sinned that sickness started manifesting in man. Adam means ‘man’\, but also means ‘reddish’\, symbolising fullness of life. It was in Enos\, the grandson of Adam\, that they began to see sin manifest as sickness and death; thus named Enos\, which means mortal. \nIf we understand sickness and Bible symbolism we will realise sickness is not always a punishment for the sin\, many a times the person may carry the sin / sin nature yet not have sickness (related to that sin). That nature will be passed on but not suffered. God allows natural sickness to manifest so as to alert us of our spiritual sickness. Every natural sickness is related to our spiritual corruption. \nIf God had gone by the rule book then all of us should be blind and seriously sick\, but it is the mercy of God not all of us are blind or seriously sick. If we have any sickness\, it comes to warn us of where we need to spiritually work on. \nIn the young man’s case Jesus confirmed the blindness the young man suffered was not because of his some serious sin nor of his parents. Note the man did approach Jesus for healing but Jesus approached him.
