SUMMARY:Idolatry
DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 10: 7 Neither be ye idolaters\, as [were] some of them; as it is written\, The people sat down to eat and drink\, and rose up to play. \nThe word ‘Idolatry’ comes from the words ‘serving’ + ‘idols’. It is when we bow\, kiss\, and offer food or flowers or burn candles\, incense\, anything or any act to believe an idol has life is considered idolatry. Idols need not be just statues; they can be pictures or simple objects like money\, vehicles\, houses\, jewellery\, electronic devices\, etc… \nWhat is interesting is that even people\, animals or religious symbol actually replace that which it represents is considered idolatry. Like a Man of God is given the place of God in one’s life\, then it is idolatry\, or a dove is thought to be the Holy Spirit is idolatry or bowing to a crucifix or kissing it is also idolatry. \nToday’s scripture speaks of the celebrations/festivals connected to idolatry. They can be either joyful or sorrowful\, both count as a celebration. One may say even God ordained festivals\, so did He promote idolatry? \nBiblical festivals are statutes\, which means they are celebrated to understand its purpose and once the purpose is understood one is not called to celebrate them. They were for the children of Israel and not for Israel. That means we who are mature in spirit are called to celebrate festivals with those growing in spirit and not for us to celebrate amongst ourselves. So Men or Women of God do not celebrate festivals unless they are doing so with those growing spiritually. \nIn idolatry the celebration is a ritual and activity if not done\, leads to condemnation either physically\, mentally or spiritually. \nI mentioned before that in Hebrew\, every letter of the alphabet is an ideogram and symbolise objects or actions. For example\, the word YHWH means ‘Behold Hand Behold Nail’ (Christ). When we decode the word idol in Hebrew\, it comes as ‘Power of Darkness’. \nThe second Commandment says we cannot make an image (symbolical or actual) of anyone in Heaven\, on Earth or one who is dead\, and serve it. So making a statue of someone as Jesus Christ and serving it is Idolatry. \nLet us be careful\, many put a Man of God (dead or alive) in high esteem\, almost as God\, then they will not go to Heaven\, contrary to what they assume. It is considered idolatry\, and Heaven is no place for idolaters. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Spirit\, and Heaven is a spiritual place. Spirit has no form that can be put in an image\, but only an image that can be lived. Lord\, we pray that we understand that perfect worship is when we live Your Image in us\, not when we make temples\, synagogues\, or altars in Your name. DESCRIPTION:Ezekiel 24:16 Son of man\, behold\, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep\, neither shall thy tears run down. \nWe see the Lord was very angry with the people and asked Ezekiel to prophecy about the suffering that was to come on them. What may come as shocking was that Ezekiel was told that\, as he was delivering this prophecy\, the Lord was taking away that which he desired the most\, which was his beautiful wife\, also that he would neither mourn nor weep. \nPeople may wonder whether the Lord is so tyrannical that He had the unmerited loss of what Ezekiel loved the most. \nThe Lord wanted Ezekiel to feel that what He felt\, His people were as dear to Him as Ezekiel’s wife was to him. The Lord wanted him and us to experience what the Lord experiences when His people go astray. \nWe need to understand that when we are punished after numerous warnings\, it does not please God to do so. It pains Him greatly\, but then to save us from greater destruction\, He needs to do so. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You created us in Your Image. You desire that we become like You. You left no stone unturned to help us. You will stand back when we become our greatest enemy. Lord\, we pray we understand it hurts You greatly when You move Your Hand from over us and allow our doings to fall on us. SUMMARY:Who is a greater sinner?
DESCRIPTION:John 9:24 Then again called they the man that was blind\, and said unto him\, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. \nIn today’s scripture\, we see the Jews gave praise to God for healing the young blind man\, but then accused him of being blind because he was a sinner. \nThe Jews knew that none were free of sin\, thus drowned themselves in rituals to cover their sinfulness. What they meant by saying he was a sinner was that he had sinned gravely and thus was punished with blindness. Later\, when they heard he was blind from birth\, they accused the parents of being grave sinners. \nSickness is indeed related to sin; it was only when man sinned that sickness started manifesting in man. Adam means ‘man’\, but also means ‘reddish’\, symbolising fullness of life. It was in Enos\, the grandson of Adam\, that they began to see sin manifest as sickness and death; thus named Enos\, which means mortal. \nIf we understand sickness and Bible symbolism we will realise sickness is not always a punishment for the sin\, many a times the person may carry the sin / sin nature yet not have sickness (related to that sin). That nature will be passed on but not suffered. God allows natural sickness to manifest so as to alert us of our spiritual sickness. Every natural sickness is related to our spiritual corruption. \nIf God had gone by the rule book then all of us should be blind and seriously sick\, but it is the mercy of God not all of us are blind or seriously sick. If we have any sickness\, it comes to warn us of where we need to spiritually work on. \nIn the young man’s case Jesus confirmed the blindness the young man suffered was not because of his some serious sin nor of his parents. Note the man did approach Jesus for healing but Jesus approached him. DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord\, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table\, and of the table of devils. \nToday’s scripture speaks to those who love the Lord but also love the world and worldly things. In the OT they are referred to as adulterous people. \nA couple of weeks back\, I was taken aback to know a couple who are Church leaders and their children are also very active in Church boast of a well-stocked bar at their house! Also\, a very senior person at one of my clients’ offices\, who told me he was a Believer\, I came to know from his colleagues that he takes bribes\, and is the reason behind his harassing people\, especially vendors. \nWhen we hear such things about people who are supposed to represent Christ in this world from non-Christians or those who are spiritually little\, it is disastrous. \nLet us understand that the Lord is very possessive of His Name\, and He can do anything to lift it up and also protect it. It is by His Name that all things live and are sustained. \nSo let us not tempt the Lord to anger by taking His Name but living a life contrary to His Name. He understands our struggle\, but when we are not making any efforts at all\, He will not tolerate. \nThe Bible says two types of people will not enter Heaven: those who are spiritually blind and those who are spiritually lame. \nWe may not be actually worshipping Satan\, but when we misrepresent the Lord\, we are representing Satan. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Holy God and nothing unholy can dwell before You. A Part of You humbled Himself and made the imperfect us so by Your Name we will be made perfect. Lord we pray we understand why You lift Your Name above You. SUMMARY:Terror of the Lord
DESCRIPTION:2 Corinthians 5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord\, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. \nPeople are ignorant of the fact that nothing just happens. All things are connected\, and their roots have a spiritual link. \nPeople foolishly think that since we live in a period of greater grace\, the book of Deuteronomy is not applicable. To be under grace\, we need to have faith. We claim grace\, but where is the faith? Only when we grow in faith will grace also grow. \nIf we read the book of Deuteronomy\, we will understand all that is happening around us. It was grace that delayed the consequences\, but grace cannot hold forever if we do not change. \nToday’s scripture tells us that if we do not change\, we will face the terror of God\, and as Christians\, we are called to warn people of this terror. Believe me when I say things are going to get more drastic in the coming days. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Love and Mercy\, but are also Holy and Righteous. You are Slow to Anger and long-suffering but are not forgetful. Lord\, we pray we understand Your Grace keeps us safe from Your wrath\, but if there is no repentance\, there is no escape. SUMMARY:Chosen to know Him
DESCRIPTION:Acts 22: 14 And he said\, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee\, that thou shouldest know his will\, and see that Just One\, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth. \nToday’s scripture triggers the great debate of why God chooses some to know Him while the remaining are kept in the dark. Is God unjust? How do those to whom the Gospel is not preached come to know Christ? If no one reaches out to them\, how can they be saved? \nTo understand this\, we need to have a great\, deep understanding of the Word and symbolism. A person in the remotest of places and having no education at all still knows the existence of God and the creator of all that exists. God also knows the person’s heart\, the potential to change and know Him. \nThere are many cases known where no preacher has reached\, but the Lord has appeared in dreams/visions\, and they have come to know Him. \nNo soul can ever claim injustice for our God is a Righteous God. \nLet us who know Him be grateful that we have come to know Him. Let us also not assume we are through and all will be okay. We need to realise that in the flock are both sheep and goats. The sheep are the only ones who inherit His Kingdom\, while the goats (who also know Him) receive great punishment for knowing Him\, yet rejecting His Word/Will. Also\, the goats are in greater numbers than the sheep. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, created all things for a purpose that no man without wisdom that comes from You can understand and receive. Lord\, we pray we do not take You or our knowing You for granted. SUMMARY:Eye light of the Body
DESCRIPTION:Luke 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single\, thy whole body also is full of light; but when [thine eye] is evil\, thy body also [is] full of darkness. \nWhen we look at today’s scripture\, it sounds illogical\, but people may say that what we see affects us is what it seems to imply. It is only when one is blessed with spiritual wisdom that one will understand it. \nThe eye is a biological camera\, a sensory organ that gathers light from your surroundings and turns it into electrical signals. Your brain then translates these signals into the images you actually see. \nIt was during my study of the inner-man that I saw the whole structure of the inner-man reflected in the human eye\, its structure and working. \nThe Greek word translated as ‘single’ is the word ‘haplous’ and is a complex word of two words which mean ‘union’ + ‘weave together’. It seem to say ‘tightly closed/controlled’ and the word ‘evil’ is the Greek word ‘poneros’ which roots from the word ‘ponos’ that means ‘greatly troubled’/’intense desire’. \nIn brief today’s scripture instructs us that we will dwell in darkness if we do not tightly control what we see and pursue worldly/carnal desires. They may seem good but in actual will fill us or plant seeds that fill us with darkness leading to faithlessness\, hatred\, lust\, fornication\, adultery\, etc… \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are full of wisdom\, which is beyond measure. You made all things in an image so that we can understand the things invisible to man. Lord\, we pray we do not take what we see or seek to see very lightly. SUMMARY:Mary more than the Prophets?
DESCRIPTION:John 2:1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: \nA few days back (7th June)\, I wrote about how the event concerning the wedding at Canna was to do with Mary’s daughter\, and the first pointer towards this was today’s message about Mary who I considered timid by theologians is seen in another character only at the wedding and after the burial of Jesus when she with other 3 women (3 Marys’) went to do pagan rituals (since Mary was of Galilee) on the body of Jesus and could not find it (the similar ritual was performed on Lazarus’ body by his sisters\, and the reason why Jesus cried seeing it). They were questioning an Angel for the body\, ignoring that they were speaking to an Angel! \nCatholics took my previous message as an offence\, even though I wrote nothing much about her. They just cannot accept the truth about Mary\, since they are emotionally attached to her. Mary was indeed blessed to be chosen as a vessel\, to be a surrogate mother of the Saviour (Jesus was not her biological son; the Holy Spirit did not impregnate her/fertilize her egg). Leaving that one fact\, there is nothing about her that lifts her in the Kingdom of God. \nHer faith\, which is so much spoken of\, is overstated. Unlike Elizabeth\, her cousin\, who immediately accepted\, Mary had to be encouraged by her cousin’s testimony to say ‘yes’. \nMary was not strong in faith\, for once she believed people that Jesus was possessed with an evil spirit\, came running with one of her sons to check on Him\, and she obtained another rebuke from Jesus (a disownment like at the wedding)\, for He asked those who were with Him in the house\, ‘Who is my mother? Who are my brethren? \nWhat people do not realize even as the mother of the Lord Jesus\, she truly did not know who He was. She was a Jew who assumed Him as the Messiah promised\, the king who is greater than David. Later\, after seeing the miracles\, she thought He was the promised Prophet greater than Moses\, but she never knew Him as Lord\, God the Son. It was Thomas who first recognised Him as the Lord. \nShe was part of the ministry of Jesus like the other women\, but her purpose was only to see after the welfare of he son. She was not part of doing the Kingdom’s work. Simone\, the Prophet warned her of her name being used to expose the hearts of people who follow the truth or follow emotions. \nShe is respected for being chosen to be His natural mother\, but that does not put her in any place greater than any Men of God or Prophets mentioned in the Bible. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. It will be punished for its misdeeds. The Lord is going to hide His face from Israel\, thus the enemy would have an upper hand over her. Even though the Lord did not allow Israel to be totally consumed\, we have seen time to time when their sins grew beyond a limit\, they were greatly consumed and punished; it took years for them to normalise. Problems may come\, but then they do not shake them or in other words\, have little effect. \nThen there are the others who try to do a business deal with the Lord; they think they can use the Lord\, they try to twist things/truth as per their convenience. Today’s scripture speaks of those whom the Lord takes through fire\, and they that survive see the glory of God. \nWe need to understand that the Lord who has called us will not easily give up on us. We have a choice to fall on the Rock and be crushed or let the Rock fall on us and crush us. In both situations\, death is inevitable. In the first case\, we die a carnal death and live spiritually\, eternally. In the second case\, we live a short carnal life but then risk an eternal death. \nLet us not take the Lord to be a fool or a man whom we can entice. He is God\, and we are not even dust before Him. SUMMARY:Sin of Faithlessness
DESCRIPTION:John 9:24 Then again called they the man that was blind\, and said unto him\, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. \nIn Jerusalem on a Sabbath\, Jesus heals a blind man who was born blind and the way He does it is intruding. Jesus places clay (wet mud) on his eyes and asks him to wash in the pool of Siloam. Jesus\, who just commanded sickness to leave\, put clay on his eyes and got him to wash in a pool? \nThe pool of Siloam also called Gihon and Shiloah in OT as Jerom writes Siloam is a fountain at the foot of Mount Sion\, which does not send forth water continually\, but on certain times and days; and comes through the hollow places of the earth\, and caves of a hard rock\, with a great noise; of which we especially cannot doubt\, who dwell in this province” \nThe pool was significant to the history of Israel and the Targum records of it “because this people loathed the kingdom of the house of David\, which ruled them quietly\, as the waters of Shiloah which flow softly;” \nIf we look at all that was happening around it was just a bunch of faithless people\, and anywhere Jesus encountered faithless people\, Jesus could do little miracles. Jesus had to either get the person out of that faithless environment and heal the person\, or use some hacks to confuse their faithlessness. \nThe pool of Siloam had sentimental value to the Jews\, so the Pharisees to attack Jesus for doing the healing on a Sabbath focused on sin. First\, the sin\, according to them of healing on a Sabbath and the young man was condemned by God to blindness due to the sins of himself or his parents. \nWhat may come as a surprise is Jesus saying ‘neither the man sinned nor his parents’ even though the Bible says none are found sinless\, thus He came as a man to be our sacrifice. What is more surprising is that the verb ‘sinned’ in Greek ‘hamartano’ is written not in the past tense but in the aorist tense (past\, present and future together). \nSickness came when sin started to manifest in man. It did not happen immediately; Adam’s sin manifested in his grandson\, and he was named Enosh (mortal). God is merciful\, and only that sin which is grave within us starts to manifest. So Jesus meant that the man’s blindness was not for his own sin or his parents’ sin\, but for the glory of God. The man was the only one with faith\, for he accepted Jesus Christ and worshipped Him. \nJesus also said to the Pharisees something profound ‘if ye were blind\, ye should have no sin: but now ye say\, We see; therefore your sin remaineth’. Jesus spoke of the sin of faithlessness\, not of all sins. Because we see/know and yet do not believe\, we are considered as sinners of faithlessness. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. SUMMARY:Fire on Judah
DESCRIPTION:Amos 2:5\, 6 But I will send a fire upon Judah\, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem. Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel\, and for four\, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver\, and the poor for a pair of shoes; \nWhen we read scriptures like today’s\, we normally just focus on the actions and get alarmed. We need to understand why and against whom. \nJerusalem is the name of a city in Judea\nJudah is the name of a tribe\nIsrael is the name of a race \nThe scripture seems to say that because of the transgressions of Israel\, the Lord will send a fire on Judah and devour Jerusalem! Also interesting are the numbers three and four put within the scripture. \nIt is only when we have an understanding of Bible word study\, symbolism and Bible codes that we will understand the scripture. \nWithout going into details\, if we understand the scripture\, we will understand the situation we are experiencing and about to experience further. \nThe scripture speaks of the mistakes which those mature in Christ are making or things they ought to do and are not doing\, this opens the door of persecution/disasters against those who are growing in the Lord and devouring those little in the Lord. The numbers give us an insight to the kinds of mistakes they are making/things they ought to do and not doing. \nWe who are called as leaders and mature in spirit\, carry the mantle of Christ and as He protected His people by the Name the Father had given Him. So also we are called to protect His people with the Name of Christ\, the Name which the Father had given Him. So let us put on His Name\, for the power is in His Name. \nWe call ourselves brethren and should understand we put each other under the umbrella of protection that is the Name of the Lord. Our mistakes can take us outside the umbrella and thus those under us become prone to greater danger. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are Holy God. There is power in Your Name. Your Son Who came from You\, carried the Name\, thus had/has power in You; He is true Israel. SUMMARY:The Former House and The Latter House
DESCRIPTION:Haggai 2:9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former\, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace\, saith the LORD of hosts. \nWhen God gave Moses the design of the Tabernacle\, He was very specific about the material used\, its presentation\, sizes\, etc. The Lord had special people who were blessed with skills to make it. The whole Tabernacle was in a tent for a purpose. \nLater\, we see that David and Solomon thought the Lord had given a design of a tent because the people had not settled down in their own land. Thus\, they wanted to build a proper temple of stone and precious metals. David could not achieve it\, but our great\, wise man Solomon did. This was his many foolishnesses. \nWhen Jesus was told about the beauty of the temple in Jerusalem\, He did not show any interest in it. Paul then writes that we are the Temple of God. \nTo understand who we are\, we need to understand the Tabernacle of God and its design and all the objects in it. This world is a temporary passing phase for us; our lives are like living in tents. So let us not get attached to this world or its things. It is only then that we will see the glory of God\, even in this world\, while we dwell in this flesh. \nWe become the Latter House that has greater glory only when we implement the plans of God in our lives (become the Tabernacle). \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are Spirit\, and You command us to walk in the Spirit to be glorified in You. Lord\, we pray that we overcome this flesh while we still dwell in it. SUMMARY:Revelation of Jesus Christ
DESCRIPTION:Galatians 1: 11-12 But I certify you\, brethren\, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man\, neither was I taught [it]\, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. \nYesterday I was attending service\, and right before me was a banner quoting a scripture about the revelation of Christ\, and I was just looking at it. The scripture part of it was quoted\, and I was fascinated by it. There was just a comma that was preventing them from understanding it\, knowing who the Lord Jesus Christ is. \nThe Sunday before\, I was at another Believer Church for a Gideon Church Report; their service and liturgy were similar to a Catholic Mass\, minus ‘prayers/veneration of Mary’. The Pastor was preaching about the great mystery of the ‘Trinity’ (Godhead) and how it is hidden from people. They failed to read Matthew 13:11\, where Jesus said it is given unto us to know mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven\, and it is hidden from others by God Himself. \nMy interest in studying Hebrew started when reading the OT\, I saw the word ‘Lord’ referenced to different persons of the Godhead\, and I wanted to know who and why. It was over the years\, while digging into it\, that I came to understand the Godhead. \nThis coming Sunday\, I am to preach somewhere\, and the topic given to me is connected to the Godhead. It will be the first time in my life that I will be addressing this topic to others\, not privately. My problem is not about explaining it\, but about how to remove the worldly doctrines they have put in\, like the comma\, which is preventing them from knowing God. \nPersonally\, I am very quick to remove/discard human doctrines/knowledge\, yet it took me years to digest the understanding of the Godhead\, for we have hundreds of human factors that act as stumbling blocks to know God. \nIn today’s scripture\, we see Paul was strong in his faith and more steadfast in his walk in Christ because He knew Christ\, he had the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ\, which was not of man. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You alone are God\, and there is none other than You. You are One God yet revealed to us as Father\, Son and Spirit. You humbled Yourself and became man so that we could become like You. DESCRIPTION:John 2:1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: \nOne will understand the desperation of Mary to force Jesus to do something about the problem when the wine (grape juice) ran out\, only when they understand today’s message. \nIn Jewish culture\, wedding banquets were traditionally held at the groom’s house\, with both families contributing to the preparations. This explains why Mary was present at the groom’s house days before the wedding feast\, assisting with its organisation. Her authority in directing the servants and managing matters during the celebration indicates that she was not simply a guest but one of the hosts. Since it was her daughter who was getting married\, Mary naturally took an active role in ensuring that everything was properly prepared for the banquet. She knew who all the guests were\, and they had already arrived\, so as to command the helpers to use the vases for wine at the command of her son Jesus. Not keeping water for washing on arriving for a banquet was a serious breach of Jewish tradition. \nJesus\, who was already engaged in ministry\, was thus invited along with His disciples to the wedding. It is wrongly understood that He started His ministry at 30\, and that He did carpentry work before that. \nIf we read Matthew 13:55\, it clearly says carpenter’s son and not a carpenter. Also\, if we check the Greek text of Mark 6:3\, there seems to be confusion because the word ‘carpenter’ is followed by ‘this’\, then ‘son’\, then ‘Mary’\, then ‘brother of’ and then the names of her children through Joseph. There is no ‘of’ between ‘son’ and ‘Mary’\, the relationship/connection word is between ‘carpenter’ and ‘son’. Jesus went from ministering to people outside cities to teaching in Synagogues after His baptism/40days wilderness testing\, after He became a Rabbi. \nAnother misunderstanding is that they were having wine and that Jesus converted the water to wine. They were having fresh grape juice\, and that is why the comment that they kept the best for last. Fresh grape juice turns bitter when kept longer\, primarily due to oxidation and fermentation. It becomes alcoholic only when kept very long\, or the fermentation is quickened by adding yeast. Even at the last supper\, it was plain fresh grape juice that they drank and not wine. \nJesus reluctantly did the miracle because He knew He would not glorify the Father by this\, but attract glory to Himself. It was for this reason that He rebuked His mother\, reminding her that she was just His surrogate mother\, not His biological mother and was not working in the interest of God’s kingdom/His mission. \nHer name\, Mary\, meaning ‘a rebel’\, was not a coincidence like all other names in the Bible. DESCRIPTION:Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed\, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. \nA few months back\, as part of Gideon’s distribution of NT in schools\, I went with another brother for permission to the Archbishop\, hoping to be able to reach out to many Catholic Church-run schools. But when I saw hesitation on the face of the Archbishop\, I quoted him Luke 12:8\, which is similar to today’s scripture. He immediately took a step back and told us he would speak to his council that manages schools and revert. But later he did bend his knee to them\, for they were afraid to stand up for Christ in case they loss fundings that supports the Church from these schools. With reduced congregation\, the schools have become their primary support. \nOn the other hand\, some years back\, we had nuns who were principals; they went against their own staff to enable us to distribute. Not only did the children (higher classes) take\, but even parents came to us asking for a copy. \nLet us be aware of the fact that just believing in Christ will save us from hell\, but not enable us to enter Heaven. It is only when we witness Christ and bring His lost sheep to Him that we will be able to enter Heaven. The oil (testimony) in our own lamps will not let us get us to enter Heaven; we need the extra oil (testimonies of others) to enter Heaven. \nSo let us not be ashamed of Christ and openly declare we are Christians\, not just verbally but also in the way we live our lives. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. DESCRIPTION:Matthew 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion\, Behold\, thy King cometh unto thee\, meek\, and sitting upon an ass\, and a colt the foal of an ass. \nA couple of days back\, I was asked\, “Can a woman lead a marriage if she is more spiritually mature than the man?” Guess what the answer is? YES\, and the answer opens a Pandora’s Box of counter questions\, quoting many scriptures of Paul. \nSadly\, the people do not understand the scriptures they quote. They go by the text\, not its understanding. \nWe have two facts: in a marriage\, the husband plays the role of Christ\, and wife/children as the Church\, so husband is considered the head; which is true. The other fact is that in Christ (when one is spiritually growing)\, there is no man or woman; both are equal; this too is true. Both these facts seem to counter each other\, which is not true. \nGod did not make women to be second fiddle to men. In spirit\, both are the same\, but in the flesh they are different\, for man is made in the image of God and woman in the image of man. \nThe mathematical formula A=B\, B=C\, so A=C\, is not spiritually valid\, since it does not say man is equal to God\, but that man is made in the image; the image can be a simple outline or just a shadow. Similarly\, a woman is a shadow image of a man\, thus although they do not look alike yet one can know man by knowing woman. Thus\, to know God\, we need to understand man and to understand man\, we need to understand woman. Marriage if correctly understood\, is a role play to understand the relationship between God and man / Christ and the Church. \nIt is only when they are spiritually mature\, or the husband is more mature than the wife\, then he is fit to play the role perfectly. The problem comes when the wife is more mature than the husband; in this case\, the husband is unfit to guide/lead her\, and if he still does\, he will spiritually destroy both. \nAnother important point is that no one is spiritually identical; each one is unique from the others. We can understand this by Calling and the mission each one has. We may lead each other depending on our spiritual growth at that point. Spiritually unequally yoked is when one is a believer and another is not\, or one has a burden to save souls\, while the other may be just a believer. Two believers in a marriage are never unequally yoked. \nStatutes change when spiritual factors change. Statutes are not Law\, so they need to be understood\, and the purpose is of greater importance than the text. The problem comes when the wrong one tries to lead. \nToday’s scripture does not speak of the women of Zion/Sion\, but includes men when it says daughters of Zion. It speaks of those spiritually growing and have not yet become Sons\, for Sons of God are already saved and do not need to be saved or need a Saviour. \nWe all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ grow from children of God\, to daughters of God\, to Sons of God as we spiritually perfect the image of God in us. In baptism\, we walk the journey from Egypt (lost sheep) to Israel (Sons of God). \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are full of Wisdom. You made the Heavens and when darkness came You made man who is lower than the Angels to fight the darkness. SUMMARY:God blinds them!
DESCRIPTION:2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not\, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ\, who is the image of God\, should shine unto them. \nIt is written that those amongst Christians are sheep and goats\, those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ\, abide in Him\, and those who believe in Him but reject/do not abide in Him\, respectively. Today’s scripture speaks of ‘the god of this world’ who has blinded those who do not believe. \nWe know there is no other God other than our Almighty God\, The Father. So what god is the scripture speaking of? Who is this god who has the power to blind them to not believe? Most would assume it is Satan\, but that is not the truth. \nIf we look at the Greek text\, the word translated as this world is ‘aion’\, which does not refer to a place but a period of time and is mostly translated as ‘forever’. So the god which blinds them is no other god than our God. \nNow the question comes as to why God blinds some and allows some to believe? Can we say salvation is not personal\, but God-imposed or orchestrated? \nIt is only when we understand the reason why God created all things and why we as Christians should take salvation seriously and cannot take it for granted\, that we will understand it is all about given preference and God as a reason to give us preference. He sees something in us that we do not see. It is only for this reason that He helps us so that what He sees in us can be achieved. We cannot take our preference for granted. \nIf we are Christians\, let us not assume we will go to Heaven\, for we may be goats and not sheep. Let us be thankful that the Lord has found us worthy to believe in Him\, and thus let us take utmost care to abide in Him and be counted amongst the sheep and not the goats. The goats are saved from Hell but are condemned to the Lake of Fire\, which was initially intended for Satan (denoted as a she goat amongst other things) and the fallen angels\, all children of Satan. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Father\, and Part of You humbled Himself and created all things for a greater purpose. SUMMARY:Consuming God
DESCRIPTION:Zephaniah 1: 3 I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven\, and the fishes of the sea\, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land\, saith the LORD. \nUN\, World Meteorological Organisation warns of potential strong El Niño this year. This El Niño is not like the previous El Niño we have seen\, but something of the level of that which was experienced in 1877\, the strongest recorded where temp spiked by 3.5degrees. A Super El Niño causes severe drought and\, at the same time\, extreme flooding in some regions. Some states in India are in danger this El Niño. \nWhen we look around people are turned full-fledged consumers and they treat God also like a consumable. They just want to use God for their worldly needs and desires. They love the world so much that they have transformed God into human like and Heaven like an exotic earthly resort. \nGod is merciful\, slow to anger but is not forgetful. It is only through faith and repentance that we are restored in Him. So let us not belittle God\, taking Him and His goodness for granted. He is all knowing\, all seeing. He will not just save us from Satan but also our most ardent enemy that is we ourselves. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Omnipotent\, Omniscient and Omnipresent God. SUMMARY:Light in the Body!
DESCRIPTION:Luke 11: 36 If thy whole body therefore [be] full of light\, having no part dark\, the whole shall be full of light\, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light. \nToday’s scripture speaks of light. If our body is full of light\, having no darkness\, then the whole body will be full of light\, as the bright shining candle that gives light. \nFirstly\, the word translated as “candle” does not refer to a wax candle as generally used today. They used the Herodian lamp\, which is designed as a pot filled with olive oil\, having a nozzle sticking out through which a wick made of twisted cloth is used to burn and give light. The light is brighter than a normal candle\, for the wick is thicker. A typical lamp would burn for at least 4 hours (the number symbolises world/worldly life). \nOlive oil lamps offer a clean\, renewable\, and soot-free lighting alternative to traditional paraffin candles or kerosene lanterns. Because olive oil has a high flash point\, it is significantly safer and will not ignite if accidentally spilled. \nThe question is how the light is signified in our body! Does it speak of good deeds\, purity\, holiness or other Fruits of the Spirit? Actually No. \nTo understand light\, we need to understand darkness. Darkness is measured as not the absence of light but as obstruction to light. Light exists everywhere so darkness is where light is restricted; the more restricted\, the more darkness. But interestingly\, there is nothing like absolute darkness. \nWe heard of the black hole\, a region in space that has such great gravity that light cannot escape. But an interesting fact is that they are associated with light because of the brilliant radiation produced by matter swirling just outside their “point of no return”. \nLight symbolises the plans of God; these would include His commandments\, statutes\, and His Word (instructions for things ahead till our worldly life). Actually\, all 3 are the same. This light burns in us when we abide in His Word\, and the Word is resident in us. In us means our inner man\, and the effect of this is visible in our natural body too (no sickness or blemish). \nWhen we reject the Word and do not abide in it\, then darkness starts to exist in us. We do not all know the whole truth\, thus every one of us has some level of darkness in us\, and thus none of us is perfect. Our baptism in Christ is the process of overcoming the darkness within us. What is important is that we keep fighting this darkness; the more we overcome it\, the more the glory of God shines from within us. \nWhat is interesting to know is that if we abide in darkness\, we will still glorify God\, but this light does not come from within us like the black hole\, but from our destruction. We glorify God either way. \nLet us choose the Light to shine from within us by abiding in Him\, His Word by studying it more and more\, and applying that understanding to our lives. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Light for You created us for a great purpose and allowed darkness to come so that we overcome the darkness and be found worthy. SUMMARY:Take up YOUR Cross and Follow
DESCRIPTION:Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people [unto him] with his disciples also\, he said unto them\, Whosoever will come after me\, let him deny himself\, and take up his cross\, and follow me. \nWhen one speaks of the Cross\, the first thing most think of is suffering\, persecution\, injustice\, etc… The Catholics add sickness to it. But we see Paul speaks of the Cross as power. \nWe are called to carry the Lord’s burden\, not His Cross. The scripture says we are called to carry our own Cross\, and our Cross is different from the Lord’s Cross or anyone else’s Cross. \nThe Greek word ‘stauros’ for ‘cross’ comes from the root word ‘histemi’\, which means ‘cause’. In the initial days\, the Assyrians used to crucify people on a pole. It was the Romans who erected Crosses (plus shape) of stone/wood (historians state them as stone\, theologians say wood) outside cities to ignite fear of the law. People were tied (not nailed) to them and left for birds to eat their flesh so as to die a slow\, torturous death. \nIncidentally\, Jesus was not tied to one of those. During His crucifixion\, they were all full\, so they had to cut a fresh (Teak) tree to crucify Him\, and thus this was carried by Him and later by another. The tree was cut and shaped like a plus\, which we assume\, but this is contested by His own Apostle. They had to exclusively nail Him alone since they could not tie Him due to the Y shape. He confirmed that He is YHWH (a Hebrew ideogram which means ‘Behold Hand Behold Nail’). \nI could understand the Cross which we are called to carry from the OT. It was the most powerful object that manifested the glory of God so much that any unauthorized person who dared to touch it would die. Yes\, it was the Ark of the Covenant. If we understand the Ark\, its design and its content\, we will understand our Cause\, our Cross\, and we will also understand the power and authority we can manifest when we carry it. It was the Ark that enabled the Israelites to enter the Promised Land\, just as it enables us to enter our Promised Land – Heaven. \nNo persecution can harm us\, no enemy can stand before us if we truly carry our Cross\, like no enemy or army harmed the Israelites when they carried the Ark. We need to be Levites (joined to\, separated unto Him) to carry the Ark/Cross. \nUnderstand the invitation to carry our Cross and follow Christ is not an invitation to suffering and anguish\, but that of power and authority. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are an Omnipotent God\, and nothing is impossible to You. You have not created us for suffering but for greatness and glory in You. It is because we do not know You or our purpose in You that we suffer. We pray we understand our Cross\, our Ark of the Covenant\, so that we manifest You\, Your Glory. Jesus answered and said unto him\, Before that Philip called thee\, when thou wast under the fig tree\, I saw thee. \nNathanael means ‘gift of God’\, Philip means lover of horses (horses symbolise prosperity)\, and the fig tree symbolises people (not people of God\, which is symbolised as the olive tree). \nThe scripture tells us Nathanael was identified for spiritual prosperity while he was one of the people. \nWe see the moment Phillip told him about Jesus while he was standing under the fig tree\, he doubted Phillip\, for Nathanael remembered scriptures (history) about how the people of Galilee were in great darkness\, and also he himself was from Galilee\, but he forgot the words of Isaiah\, which said the Saviour would be known in Galilee. \nJesus was born in Bethlehem\, and as an infant\, along with His parent they fled to Egypt for a period and then came to Galilee\, for it was the home of Mary (Joseph may have died in Egypt – which is not recorded). Mary\, being from Galilee\, was deeply involved in pagan rituals\, even though she loved the Lord. We see she tried to do Egyptian rituals of the dead on the body of Jesus on the third day\, as the sisters of Lazarus did with his body. Jesus cried at the tomb of Lazarus not because he was dead (Jesus knew of that long before and had come to bring him back to life)\, but cried because He was disheartened to see what they had done with his body. \nNathanael is believed to be Bartholomew\, one of the twelve Apostles chosen by Jesus\, as he was a native of Cana in Galilee. \nIn OT\, we see the Holy Spirit as a pillar of fire/cloud\, who was with the Israelites even before they crossed the Red Sea (which is symbolic of baptism). God was with us even before we decided to follow Him\, and because He was with us\, we have been able to choose Him. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are Love. SUMMARY:Father honors the Son
DESCRIPTION:John 8:54 Jesus answered\, If I honour myself\, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say\, that he is your God: \nThe word honour is misunderstood as to glorify; one can glorify oneself\, but not honour oneself. In English\, the word honour means to respect\, to have esteem. It can be used as a verb\, noun or even adjective. Its rendering changes as a verb\, as a noun and as an adjective. \nIn Greek\, the word translated as honour is the word ‘doxazo’\, which comes from the root word to have an opinion\, to judge\, to preeminence… \nIn short\, as a noun\, it requires someone of greater authority or position\, as used in today’s scripture. A teacher can honor student\, a management its employee\, a head of an army its member. \nAs a verb\, even a person of a lower state can honour someone greater and vice versa\, like in 1 Samuel 2:30. We honour God and God honours us. \nAs an adjective like ‘honourable’\, it requires a lower state person to be honoured by a person of a greater state i.e. 2 Samuel 23:. \nOne might say we are called to honour our father and mother\, even though they are in a greater hierarchy than we\, so how does this logic apply? \nWe are indeed called to honour our father and mother\, even though they are of a higher hierarchy than we\, but the treasure lies in understanding it. We cannot honour them when fit or well to do in health\, thus when the Lord commanded we honour them is when they are unwell or old to take care of themselves. Thus\, showering love on them\, they are well-to-do\, is not honouring\, but when they are not\, it is. We read in yesterday’s message about being ‘ready for death’\, which means when they are weak mentally or physically\, we are called to honour them. \nGod the Father is eternal\, so also is the Son\, thus the Father is always greater than the Son. So the Son can glorify the Father but not honour Him\, it is the Father alone who can glorify the Son and also honour Him. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. SUMMARY:Ready to Die!
DESCRIPTION:Luke 7:2 And a certain centurion’s servant\, who was dear unto him\, was sick\, and ready to die. \nWe all know of the incident of the centurion whose faith surprised Jesus. Jesus went on to say that his faith was the greatest in the land\, including those amongst the Israelites. \nToday I am not going in that direction\, but what got my attention is the words ‘ready to die’\, which in other translations is given as ‘to the point of death’. Both try to convey the same message\, but the words ‘ready to die’ are hard-hitting and impactful\, causing us to understand death more deeply. \nWe all die a natural death when our spirit leaves our natural body. When this happens\, our natural body engine shuts down and starts to decay. The words ‘ready to die’ show us that there is a force that holds our spirit to our natural body\, and this force is reduced when we are naturally sick or mentally weak. This force is more mental than physical. \nJust working on building our natural body does not assure good natural life; we also need to be mentally healthy. The term psychosomatic disorders speaks of physical illnesses that originate from mental health and emotional distress. While the physical symptoms are absolutely real\, their root cause lies in how the mind processes stress\, trauma\, or emotional struggles. Sicknesses like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or stomach ulcers are highly responsive to emotional tension. Also\, unresolved mental stress can naturally lead to palpitations\, racing heart\, and elevated blood pressure. The list goes on… \nThe fact that the rich have lots of resources to take care of the natural body yet are highly prone to death because they lack mental health. On the other hand\, a poor man may not be physically top-notch but will live longer because of better mental health. \nThe comforts of this world do not guarantee a better life\, but only when we balance them with our spiritual life do we see a better\, longer life. \nLet us be mindful when we seek riches\, we also seek death; thus\, to have a better life\, we need to feed only our needs and not our wants. We need to grow from tithing to giving (letting our cups overflow instead of enlarging our cups). \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. Lord\, You are Spirit\, You are Awesome. SUMMARY:The Betrayal
DESCRIPTION:Mark 14: 10\, 11 And Judas Iscariot\, one of the twelve\, went unto the chief priests\, to betray him unto them. And when they heard [it]\, they were glad\, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him. \nToday\, if any person is found guilty of a crime\, the person’s identity must first be confirmed\, and the crime must then be proved beyond a doubt. If it is a murder\, then not just the body and weapon need to be produced as evidence\, but even the intention needs to be produced for a clear judgment. \nIn the Roman era and the medieval era\, this was not the approach. To identify a person\, any person who can confirm the person’s identity is sufficient. Coming to the crime\, the prosecution does not need to prove the accusation; instead\, the accused needs to prove one’s innocence. \nIn the case of Jesus\, there were many accusers for various so-called crimes\, but they lacked someone who could step forward to identify Him. The Jewish accusers\, that is\, the Priests and clergy\, found this person in Judas. Judas was close to Jesus and followed Him wherever He went. Judas even performed miracles like others. But for Judas\, there came a point where money took a greater priority. This did not happen overnight\, but gradually happened over a long period. It started with him opting to be the finance manager of Jesus’ ministry; he held the purse. \nMy personal thoughts are that Judas was the son of Simon the Leper from Bethany (who was healed of leprosy). The events of betrayal were closed there\, and the freely outspokenness of Judas in that house\, which we did not see happening with him anywhere else. We also see that he is introduced in John not once but 4 times as the son of Simon. \nJudas had seen the favour of God and also experienced the glory of God\, yet greed kept him in darkness. He became the Pharaoh who also glorified God\, unlike the way Moses did. He also fulfilled the scriptures\, but the negative part. His end was pure destruction. \nIt is sad when Men of God who have experienced the favour of God and seen/been instruments of the glory of God\, due to greed\, become Judas. They do not accuse God of evil\, but in their evil\, they identify God as their Lord. Their end\, too\, like Judas’\, is pure destruction. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are a Holy God. You are Perfect in every way. You are Light\, and there is no darkness in You. We pray\, Lord\, we do not take You for granted and let darkness anchor itself in us. SUMMARY:Ungodly powers
DESCRIPTION:Acts 8: 9\, 10 But there was a certain man\, called Simon\, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery\, and bewitched the people of Samaria\, giving out that himself was some great one: To whom they all gave heed\, from the least to the greatest\, saying\, This man is the great power of God. \nNot all spiritual powers are godly. Before I came to the Lord\, I was deep into palmistry and astrology. I used to not just disclose the future but also the past\, and they could confirm my reading. My accuracy was over 85percent. Later\, as I got deeper into it\, I realised I did not need to see their hand to read. I felt a dark power working through me. After coming into the Lord\, I had to rebuke the power within me and was set free from it. \nIn India\, we have many so-called ‘godmen’\, some do manifest powers\, and I had interaction with a couple of them. What I found their powers do not work when one is in the Lord. Like hypnotism does not work on everyone\, so also these powers do not work on everyone. Unless one submits to the power\, it has no hold on you. \nWe see in today’s scripture that the people assumed the powers that Simon manifested were from God; they submitted to them. It was only when Philip came onto the scene that they realised it was ungodly. Since Philip had discernment\, he could know the powers were ungodly. \nIt is only when we seek the purpose and to what end it is leading that we can discern if it is godly or ungodly. Philip\, while preaching\, healed and delivered many\, but the spirit/s in Simon was still holding on to him. It is only when the person/or one related to them\, seeks help that they can be set free. It requires a spiritually very mature person to remove the spirit from within an unwilling soul. \nToday\, being ‘Good Friday’\, we find some people manifesting nail marks on their hands or on their heads. This is known as Stigmata. It looks godly but is not. It is a very powerful\, ungodly power that deceives people far from God\, and that too while taking the Lord Jesus’ name. \nThe biggest problem comes when Men or Women of God (those with Callings) play with ungodly powers (this does happen when they harbour greed\, hate\, unforgiveness\, etc.)\, one cannot easily identify when they are speaking for/acting on behalf of God or under ungodly powers. This state does not last long when another Man/Woman of God is around. The hidden gets exposed. \nWe need to be careful\, even if we are in the Lord\, for these powers can have a hold on us if we do not have a hold of our desires or emotions. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are Light\, and when we are in You\, Your Light within us exposes and overcomes the darkness within us and within those around us. SUMMARY:Lord's Table or Devil's Table
DESCRIPTION:1 Corinthians 10: 21\, 22 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord\, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table\, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? \nToday\, Catholic’s and also many Believer Churches commemorate the Last Supper\, enacting the washing of feet\, breaking of bread and drinking of wine. What they do is nothing short of bad mimicry and provoking the Lord’s wrath. \nThey do not see that they were celebrating the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread\, which was a week-long feast and started in the evening of the Sabbath. It is called Supper since it was dinner/evening meal. There was no other food other than unleavened bread and grape juice. It was not leavened bread or wafer but simple unleavened bread. Yeast was strictly forbidden\, therefore the bread was unleavened\, and the grape juice unfermented. \nJesus washing their feet was not a sign of service but a realisation of the sacrifice which the Lord’s Table represents (Sacrifice of Guilt). The bread and wine are for the forgiveness of sins that we commit unknowingly (washing of feet)\, but to receive that\, we need to first deal with the sins we are aware of (wash our own hands). It is for this reason that Paul warns that we do not share the Table in an unworthy manner\, and by doing so\, we endanger the wrath of God\, for we mock the sacrifice. \nWhat they do not realise is that by celebrating the Last Supper today\, they are not disassociating it from the Feast of Unleavened Bread\, but also denying Jesus as the Pascal Lamb. Since a Pascal Lamb was observed for 5 days before it was sacrificed. So from the Sabbath evening (Saturday)\, 5 days means the Lamb was killed today evening (Thursday evening)\, which means today is the day He was crucified and died. It is Good Thursday and not Good Friday. Friday was a High Sabbath\, the day they celebrate their exile from Egypt. This also confirms He resurrected exactly on the 3rd day\, which is on Sunday. \nWhat I fail to understand is how they have been doing so for so many years\, and do not see these simple things when they study or read scriptures. They are fulfilling the prophecy that the daily sacrifice would be kept away for 1290 days (years). It was around the 8th century that the Catholic Church changed things\, and the wafer/communion was introduced. Since then\, the daily sacrifice has been discontinued. \nHad they not discontinued\, most of our Churches would not exist. Paul’s warning is not to be taken lightly. Personally\, once (many years back) I did celebrate the Lord’s Table as it is to be done\, and all the people who took part unworthily were immediately (within a few days) given unto the spirits they were harbouring (more than half of those who ate). Today\, I would fear to celebrate the Lord’s Table again without utter caution. \nLet us not celebrate the Devil’s Table instead of the Lord’s Table by lies/distorting of things. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. Lord\, You are Truth\, and there is no darkness in You. Lord\, we pray that we do not try to show You failed and yet seek salvation in You. We pray You heal us of our foolishness and stubbornness. SUMMARY:Becoming a Transgressor
DESCRIPTION:Galatians 2:18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed\, I make myself a transgressor. \nPaul speaks of becoming a transgressor by doing the things he revolted against. If we tell people something is wrong and then do it ourselves\, we become transgressors. \nAs Believers\, we became ‘Protestants’ to Catholics by objecting to their vain traditions/beliefs that were contrary to the Word of God. But if we look at the festivals we celebrate\, we are blindly following what they did\, without discerning or checking with the Word of God. \nWhen it comes to festivals\, we Believers become Catholics and then go back when they are over to differentiating ourselves from them. We have become seasonal Catholics. \nTomorrow\, churches will celebrate the Last Supper\, not knowing what it was\, then on Friday\, they will celebrate the Lord’s crucifixion\, trying to accuse Him of failing His promise/fulfilment of Prophecy\, yet seeking salvation in His sacrifice. \nBeing a staunch Catholic before the Lord opened my eyes to the mischief of that temple of Satan. After coming out and going deeper in the Word\, I realised Believer Churches are still partially under Satan’s control\, which is the reason we do not truly see the glory of God\, and no one fears lifting their heads against the Church. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. Lord\, we pray we do not behave like fools trying to prove You failed and yet seek salvation in You. DESCRIPTION:Romans 8: 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. \nI have heard questions like ‘if God is God and knows everything\, then does He require us to pray/ask Him\, He should be giving us without asking’. \nToday’s scripture is about prayer. When we read the translations of today’s scripture\, it causes a person to have a mystical picture; a person praying for something not aware of and saying something that cannot be said! \nIt is only when we go deeper into the Greek text and its root meanings that we get the real picture or understanding. \nExpanding Romans 8:26\nIn the same manner\, the [Holy] Spirit also helps strengthen [mood ‘indicative’\, thus not guaranteed – conditions apply] our weaknesses [spiritual rather than natural] for we do not know how we need to pray as we ought to\, but the [Holy] Spirit Himself on behalf of us leads us to the mark with sighs [cries] which cannot be expressed in words. \nIf we understand prayer\, the words that we utter are not for God but more for us\, but the communication that comes from our spirit\, our hearts\, is what God hears. We can fool people with loud prayer or using big words\, but they would be just noise to God. He hears that which comes from our hearts\, our spirit. \nToday’s scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit guides us in how to really pray and receive all that the Lord has already made available for us. It is sin and corruption that have taken away our provisions\, and it is faith [believing in the truth] that helps us receive them. Prayer without faith is just blabber. Faith cannot be expressed in words; what we pray in spirit matters\, everything else is either to help our spirit pray or prevent us from praying. \nOur prayers many a times are obstacles to our praying\, like when we rattle words given by someone else\, keep repeating without understanding\, giving thought to what we are saying\, when we pray for things against the Will of God/Word\, etc… \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, are Spirit and Your Kingdom is Spirit World. Lord\, You are not fooled by our words for You read our thoughts and see our feelings.
