SUMMARY:No Entry Without Witnessing
DESCRIPTION:Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed\, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. \nPeople are fooled into believing that just by believing in Jesus Christ one will go to Heaven. If that were the case\, then the need to send His Spirit would not be required; baptism in the Holy Spirit would not be necessary. \nPeople think the race which Paul speaks of is a straight track race in which one starts and ends the race. They need to wake up to the fact that this is a relay event. It was started by one man; many joined\, millions ran in between\, and in the end\, just two will finish it. Thus\, running the race is one important criterion\, and also important is the criterion of passing on the baton to another\, or others. While we run\, we also build the one we pass the baton to\, so they run better than us and reach out to many more. At the end\, the two who achieve what the race is meant for qualify all those who ran without giving up to be counted as winners. The winners get to enter the Lord’s Kingdom/Heaven. \nInterestingly\, the existing Heaven created by God The Son is not our final destination. Bible says when the Heavenly Temple is restored (without going to Heaven)\, God The Father is revealed and we become a part of Him. At this time\, the Bible speaks of a New Heaven and a New Nation (Earth). \nLet us not be fooled into locking ourselves in a room and praying for people; prayer is our ignition\, witnessing and ministering is our engine. \nWe need to reach out and build others; else we will not be surprised to hear the words ‘I do not know you’ from the Lord on Judgment Day. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. Lord\, we pray we understand we alone are unable to finish the race; it is only when we run as a body do we finish the race. It is only in reaching out to others and building others that we become qualified to enter Your kingdom. We pray You bless us with boldness and wisdom that we go out and witness You unto others\, saying what Your Spirit needs us to… \nWe make this prayer in Jesus’ Name. Amen. \n[Reference Scriptures]\nMatthew 7:20-23\n20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.\n21 Not every one that saith unto me\, Lord\, Lord\, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.\n22 Many will say to me in that day\, Lord\, Lord\, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?\n23 And then will I profess unto them\, I never knew you: depart from me\, ye that work iniquity. \nMatthew 10:32-33\n32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men\, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.\n33 But whosoever shall deny me before men\, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. \n1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all\, but one receiveth the prize? So run\, that ye may obtain. \nHebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses\, let us lay aside every weight\, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us]\, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us\,

SUMMARY:Not by Commandment
DESCRIPTION:2 Corinthians 8:8 I speak not by commandment\, but by occasion of the forwardness of others\, and to prove the sincerity of your love. \nPaul in his letters (written by him and his team\, sometimes himself) was very clear what is inspired/as per Scripture\, and when he wrote according to his understanding\, not sure it was right or not. \nToday’s scripture\, we see Paul confirming something that he was not very sure about but shared his personal experience. \nWhen we share the Word\, we should be very careful about what is our own and what is of God. It is only when we draw that line that what is our own will reduce more and more. Paul drew that line; therefore\, we see that this is mentioned in just 4 or 5 instances. \nWhat we see happening with Preachers today is that they share more of their conclusions as the Word\, and people believe them more than what the Word of God says. They read the Word yet se their conclusion more than what the Word says. It is for this reason that they do Lord\, Lord and still are far from the Lord. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Holy God. You are Perfect in every way. Lord\, we pray we do not make ourselves Your enemies by misinterpreting Your Word and making You a liar. Lord\, we pray we learn to draw the line as to what is from You and what is according to our understanding… \nWe make this prayer in Jesus’ Name. Amen. \n[Reference Scriptures]\n1 Corinthians 7:12-13\n12 But to the rest speak I\, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not\, and she be pleased to dwell with him\, let him not put her away.\n13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not\, and if he be pleased to dwell with her\, let her not leave him. \n1 Corinthians 7:25-26\n25 Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment\, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.\n26 I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress\, [I say]\, that [it is] good for a man so to be. \n1 Corinthians 7:39-40\n39 The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead\, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.\n40 But she is happier if she so abide\, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.

SUMMARY:Following Process
DESCRIPTION:Luke 17:14 And when he saw [them]\, he said unto them\, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass\, that\, as they went\, they were cleansed. \nSamaria was the capital of northern Israel. The tribes of northern Israel were called Samaritans/Samarians. They were hated by the Jews\, who were from southern Israel and named after their capital\, Jerusalem. The Jews were followers of traditions and thus considered themselves righteous\, while the Samaritans and Galileans were jumbled into a concoction of pagan traditions; therefore\, they were looked down on by the Jews as heathens. \nWhen passing the place between Samaria and Galilee\, some lepers called out to Jesus for help. Jesus simply told them to show themselves to the priests. By doing this\, He did two things. First\, He tested their faith\, for a leper would show himself to the priest only after he was healed. So by telling them to go and show themselves\, He tested their faith\, and since they showed faith\, they were healed while on the journey. Secondly\, Jesus did not step over the toes of the Jews; He followed the OT process of the priest being the authority of a person being free of leprosy\, which the Jews followed as tradition (without understanding). \nJesus did try not to step on the toes of Jews as much as possible\, but there are many times we read that it was a Sabbath and Jesus went to the Synagogue and healed people. He knew his actions would make them furious\, but He did not hold back. In places where I would affect others\, we find Jesus did not confront face to face\, but in places where it was between Him and them\, there Jesus took them face on. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. Lord\, You are the Prince of Peace; Peace comes only from You. Peace does not mean to submit to all powers. Lord\, we pray that we understand that to have peace\, we need to submit to You and You alone. There will be times when we will need to show patience with the powers/authorities of this world… \nWe make this prayer in Jesus’ Name. Amen. \n[Reference Scriptures]\nLuke 17:11-13\n11 And it came to pass\, as he went to Jerusalem\, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.\n12 And as he entered into a certain village\, there met him ten men that were lepers\, which stood afar off:\n13 And they lifted up [their] voices\, and said\, Jesus\, Master\, have mercy on us. \nLuke 6:6 And it came to pass also on another sabbath\, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered. \nLuke 13:10-12\n10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.\n11 And\, behold\, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years\, and was bowed together\, and could in no wise lift up [herself].\n12 And when Jesus saw her\, he called [her to him]\, and said unto her\, Woman\, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. \nLuke 14:1-4\n1 And it came to pass\, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day\, that they watched him.\n2 And\, behold\, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.\n3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees\, saying\, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?\n4 And they held their peace. And he took [him]\, and healed him\, and let him go; \n

SUMMARY:Justified God
DESCRIPTION:Luke 7:29-30 And all the people that heard [him]\, and the publicans\, justified God\, being baptized with the baptism of John. But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves\, being not baptized of him. \nThe Greek word translated as ‘justified’ is the word ‘dikaioo’ which speaks of rendering righteousness\, a conjugation of the verb. \nWe read in today’s scripture that all the people who were baptised with the baptism of John\, ‘justified God’\, meaning they considered Him to be righteous; what we see also mentioned here is that amongst these were publicans – tax collectors\, people considered extreme sinners\, as we look at politicians today. At the same time\, the Pharisees and Sadducees\, who were tagged with being righteous and knowing Scripture respectively\, rejected the warning against themselves; they did not accept the baptism of repentance. \nThe first step to accepting God is to accept that we are sinners and need Him. A person who feels they are ‘good’ and that nothing is wrong with them\, and that what they have done is nothing of great concern\, will never accept/turn to God or know God. They will be religious but never righteous. \nTo become righteous\, we need to accept how unrighteous we are; it is only then the Lord works in us through our baptism in Him and makes us His righteous. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You Lord are Holy God and You alone are Holy. You are Righteous and since we are far from the Truth we are also far from Righteousness. We acknowledge the corruption is us and that we need You\, only You can save us by transforming us. Lord we pray we surrender more and more to You and not be fooled by religion and traditions… \nWe make this prayer in Jesus’ Name\, Amen. \n[Reference Scriptures]\nPsalms 51:4 Against thee\, thee only\, have I sinned\, and done [this] evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest\, [and] be clear when thou judgest. \nRomans 3:4-6\n4 God forbid: yea\, let God be true\, but every man a liar; as it is written\, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings\, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.\n5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God\, what shall we say? [Is] God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)\n6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? \nLuke 3:12-13\n12 Then came also publicans to be baptized\, and said unto him\, Master\, what shall we do?\n13 And he said unto them\, Exact no more than that which is appointed you. \n

SUMMARY:Be Imitators of God
DESCRIPTION:Ephesians 5:1 Be ye therefore imitators of God\, as beloved children; \nBeing children of God\, we are called to imitate Him. In today’s scripture\, it is not just a request but a command. It does not say if possible or please\, but a direct instruction. \nNo being has seen God\, so how is it possible to imitate Him? \nIn the very subsequent verses\, we see Paul speaks of imitating someone we have known in person through Scripture and witnesses who have seen and interacted with Him\, and that is Jesus Christ. \nLord Jesus Christ took the form of man in the flesh\, and while in the flesh He manifested the Nature of the Father. We come to know the Father only through Him. He\, as God The Son\, created the Heavens and all of creation that exists\, so the only way to know the Father is by knowing Him. \nCan we expect God to invite us to be part of Him if we are not emulating Him as His Children? Can a man accept a child as his if the child looks like another race? \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are Father. A Part of You created us and all that exists. Lord\, we pray that we understand that to be part of You\, we have to share something common in You. Lord we pray we be more and more like Jesus who as man manifested You for He alone knows You and has seen You… \nWe make this prayer in Jesus’ Name\, Amen. \n[Reference Scriptures]\nEphesians 5:2-4\n2 And walk in love\, as Christ also hath loved us\, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.\n3 But fornication\, and all uncleanness\, or covetousness\, let it not be once named among you\, as becometh saints;\n4 Neither filthiness\, nor foolish talking\, nor jesting\, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. \nJohn 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son\, which is in the bosom of the Father\, he hath declared [him]. \nJohn 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father\, save he which is of God\, he hath seen the Father. \n1 John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another\, God dwelleth in us\, and his love is perfected in us. \n

SUMMARY:Complacent Paul!
DESCRIPTION:Acts 21:30 And all the city was moved\, and the people ran together: and they took Paul\, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut. \nYesterday in Church the topic was about Paul. The preacher spoke of Paul’s struggles and his victories. But he failed to present the human Paul\, who had deficiencies and made mistakes even at his spiritual peak. A person who loved the Lord and whom the Lord loved\, yet was not given everything\, even though he was under abundant grace. He had to become an overcomer. \nI have pointed out many times that Paul was a bad orator. A preacher who caused people to sleep with his boring\, long speeches. People said he wrote strong letters\, but in person there was no fire in his sharing. He asked the Lord thrice for help in this matter\, but the Lord left him to fend for himself and overcome\, stating the grace given unto him was sufficient. \nToday’s scripture points to the second part of Paul where he erred. Paul had beforehand received multiple warnings through people and also through the mouth of a Prophet about what awaited him in Jerusalem. Was Paul complacent\, careless\, dismissive\, flippant or negligent to ignore it? \nThe warning did not tell him not to go\, but was about being careful\, and he did not. In Jerusalem\, Paul did something which he himself was a champion against\, that is\, traditions. He\, under the influence of the praise of the Church leaders\, consented to be party to a Jewish tradition just to please some to become Christians. \nAnyone wanting to become a Christian cannot knowingly build bridges to gradually move residence from falsehood to truth. One needs to deny or reject falsehood and accept the truth to become a Christian. One cannot say I will continue a few traditions\, or worship fewer gods before accepting the Lord God. \nA seasoned\, mature Paul too became prey to praises and adoration. He did something that had no sense or anything to do with God. He was warned\, but instead of understanding the warning\, he took it as a challenge and went ahead. This one mistake led to his death\, but the Lord\, in His mercy\, made sure Paul completed his mission even after being arrested in Rome. \nLet us be extra careful when people keep praising you. If you do not have anyone who can correct you around you\, then you are in great danger. Do not hate or flee from the person who rebukes you; instead\, give thought and see if that person is seeing something that you are blind to. That one person may be more valuable than a hundred who please you. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You are a Merciful God\, always wanting to help us\, but You will not fail the purpose You created us for\, which is to overcome darkness. Lord\, we pray that we understand we are not perfect and need to work to be perfect in You. You help us\, but that does not mean we can outsource everything unto You. Lord\, we pray we understand we need to take caution at every time and never let our guard down… \nWe make this prayer in Jesus’ Name. Amen. \n[Reference Scriptures]\n2 Corinthians 11:6 But though [I be] rude in speech\, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things. \n2 Corinthians 10:10 For [his] letters\, say they\, [are] weighty and powerful; but [his] bodily presence [is] weak\, and [his] speech contemptible. \nActs 20:9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus\, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching\, he sunk down with sleep\, and fell down from the third loft\, and was taken up dead. \nActs 21:4\, 10-14\, 18-20\, 23-24\n4 And finding disciples\, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit\, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.\n10 And as we tarried [there] many days\, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet\, named Agabus.\n11 And when he was come unto us\, he took Paul s girdle\, and bound his own hands and feet\, and said\, Thus saith the Holy Ghost\, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle\, and shall deliver [him] into the hands of the Gentiles.\n12 And when we heard these things\, both we\, and they of that place\, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.\n13 Then Paul answered\, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only\, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.\n14 And when he would not be persuaded\, we ceased\, saying\, The will of the Lord be done.\n18 And the [day] following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.\n19 And when he had saluted them\, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.\n20 And when they heard [it]\, they glorified the Lord\, and said unto him\, Thou seest\, brother\, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:\n23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;\n24 Them take\, and purify thyself with them\, and be at charges with them\, that they may shave [their] heads: and all may know that those things\, whereof they were informed concerning thee\, are nothing; but [that] thou thyself also walkest orderly\, and keepest the law. \n
