SUMMARY:Dwell by Faith\, Rooted and Grounded by Love
DESCRIPTION:Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye\, being rooted and grounded in love\, \nChrist dwelling in us requires two things: faith and love\, which is what today’s scripture tells us. \nFaith is misunderstood as just believing. What we believe in and how strong that belief is defines the difference between faith and hope. It is only when we believe in the truth strongly that it becomes faith; otherwise\, it is hope. When that hold is unshakeable\, it becomes authority. Jesus was called a man of authority and not a man of faith. \nSome days back\, as I was helping my daughter prepare her notes to preach on the Fruit Goodness. While doing so\, we needed to identify the difference between Love and Kindness\, and it was enlightening to get clarity. \nLove is the will we hold towards doing good that benefits / edifies the recipient. Paul says\, if love/that will does not exist\, then all other things are meaningless. \nAnother interesting fact that is mentioned is the use of the words rooted and grounded. In English\, they may seem the same\, but when we look up the Greek words and their root meanings\, it gives clarity as to why both words are used. \nWe understand them when we understand how the foundation of a tall building is done. One has to dig deep and also make sure it is rooted in rock and not mud or loose stones. Secondly\, the foundation needs to be stabilised\, else shaking\, even like a small earthquake\, can bring that structure down. \nRooted speaks of setting the foundation on a strong base\, and grounding speaks of stabilising it. Rooting may be a one-time effort\, but grounding requires continuous monitoring and change. \nHaving Christ dwelling in us is not simple but a continuous effort and a clear understanding of Him and His Kingdom (the Word of God). \nSo let us not be delusional to claim Christ dwells in us if we are not studying His Word and putting it in practice. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You Lord are Truth and Light. We pray Lord\, we seek Light by seeking the understanding Your Word. We pray also that we realise the understanding will truly come when we abide in Your Word. Help us be the Temple where Your Glory dwells forever… \nThis prayer we make in Jesus’ Name\, Amen. \n[Reference Scriptures]\nIsaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity\, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place]\, with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit\, to revive the spirit of the humble\, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. \nJohn 6:56 He that eateth my flesh\, and drinketh my blood\, dwelleth in me\, and I in him. \nJohn 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him\, If a man love me\, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him\, and we will come unto him\, and make our abode with him. \nRomans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh\, but in the Spirit\, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ\, he is none of his. \n

SUMMARY:Faith and Love
DESCRIPTION:Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye\, being rooted and grounded in love\, \nPeople think just because they attend Church\, call themselves Christians\, hope for salvation in Christ\, say prayers\, give alms\, etc.\, Christ dwells in them/their hearts/inner-man. \nToday’s scripture says 2 factors define whether Christ dwells in us\, and these are faith and love. \nIt is not hope or belief but faith. Hope is when we believe in something whether it is true or not. Belief is when we believe in something handed down to us by man\, like traditions. Faith\, unlike them\, is believing that which is true\, that which does not change; in other words\, God or that which comes from God. Hope can be blind\, but there is nothing like blind faith. Belief does not need God to be in the picture\, but without God there is no faith. \nLove is not the emotions that we excrete in our words or by action. Love\, if understood\, is the will to edify and build another. To will is the strongest desire\, that which stirs our lives. So if we do not will the Kingdom of God or those of His Kingdom\, then we do not love God. \nIt is only when we grow in truth and understanding of the Kingdom of God that our faith will grow\, and our love/our will will be shaped better/ will be more effective. \n[Prayer Starter]\nLord\, You are Almighty God. You\, Lord\, do not change\, for You are Truth and Holy. Truth does not change\, nor that which is Perfect. Lord\, we pray we do not dwell in hope or belief and assume You dwell in us. It is only when we put on Your Name/Nature that You dwell in us\, and the root of it is faith and love. Lord\, we pray we grow in understanding so that our faith increases and our love for Your Kingdom becomes stronger and stronger… \nThis prayer we make in Jesus’ Name\, Amen. \n[Reference Scriptures]\nMatthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them\, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you\, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed\, ye shall say unto this mountain\, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. \nMark 4:40 And he said unto them\, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? \nRomans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written\, The just shall live by faith. \nJohn 13:35 By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples\, if ye have love one to another. \n1 John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word\, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
