Just praying will not help you here

2 Kings 14:26,27
For the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter: for there was not any shut up[able], nor any left[help], nor any helper for Israel. And the LORD said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

It is interesting to read of the times of Jeroboam son of Joash and the King of Israel.

During the reign of Jeroboam the son of Joash the people Israel sinned against the Lord because the ruler himself did not walk in the ways of the Lord. It is written thus Israel had a very bitter and afflicted life. The affliction was so great that the Lord took note of it and reconsidered it. He saw not only their sins but bend lower and also tried to see if there was help among them or an able and helpful person to guide them out of their ways. Since He did not find any, the Lord had mercy on them and delivered them by the hand of the same sinner Jeroboam.

Today we cannot think of the same to happen to us since we live in the grace period of Jesus Christ. The grace of Jesus Christ is always there for us to help us to turn back from our evil and wicked ways, all we need to do is cling unto Him. When we who believe in Jesus Christ cling unto His Spirit, by the grace already made available to us, the Spirit of God delivers us from the hold of the wicked one (nature of the evil one).

Not only is the grace of God available for us, we also have many Men and Women of God among us to guide us on to the right path.

So now just praying will not help to overcome the afflictions, we will need to act in faith abiding in the grace or hearken to the warnings of His appointed Watchmen.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, even when your people sinned against You and angered You; yet even at the times of your anger your mercy reigned. You remembered your covenant with your people and delivered them. Lord, we thank You for the Covenant of grace through Jesus Christ. We pray Lord for your people that they abide by the grace of Jesus Christ and the words of your Watchmen. We also pray for all your' appointed Watchmen that they dedicatedly and fearlessly do the task assigned to them...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.
