No good dwells in our flesh

Romans 7:18 - For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

We see people of other religions as an act of penance punish their bodies beating it, whipping it; even in the early church it was a known fact that priests would punish themselves with whips behind closed doors. If by punishing the body man could have had the hope of change then Churches would have been torture houses.

We need to understand when Adam and Eve were made into human flesh there was no problem with them. Adam was referred to as a son of God, but it was only after they sinned and ate of the fruit of good and bad that corruption came into man. It was not that the flesh changed any form but it was the corruption of the inner-man that took place. The image of God in man got corrupted and man was no longer called son of God.

Paul used the right word 'corruption' for it does not mean complete deformation but part deformation. That means in us, something of God still exists.

The Biblical word 'flesh' comes from the root meaning which means 'message'. If we get into the DNA which is the basic element of our flesh it is made of elements A, B, C, D etc. and they are linked together into sentences, chapters and further structured into books called Chromosomes. This does not stop here but the number of Chromosomes in man and the way the elements work between each other and others has the working of the Word of God in us.

When God made us this DNA was perfect for the Word was perfect in us, but when man sinned the word in us got corrupted, like changes in the DNA brings sicknesses. Even in Adam who when made was full of life and was made to live for many more years than he did, started showing effects of sin in his body so much so that his grandson was named 'Enos' which means 'mortal' and comes from the root word which means 'sick'.

Each one of us carries a message which is a corrupt message and we struggle with whatever good is in us. The evil or corruption in us does not let the good to bear good fruit.

Jesus being without blemish, free of corruption was the perfect Word of God in the flesh. His Word and His Spirit brings a change in us and helps us remove the corruption in us. That is why it is written when we know the Truth and allow this Truth to be written in us by walking in the Truth we are set free from the corruption and once again become sons of God.

The message of this world being not the Message of God causes more corruption in us and therefore is against God. So fighting this world does not mean we physically take arms against people of this world but means to bring down the teachings of this world and like Paul says this can only happen when we get the message in us according to the Word of God.

The Jews kept the Law in the flesh and therefore even though they did everything they could, according to the Law, yet Jesus told them they did not keep the law.

Thus right fasting is not to deprive the body of food but to overcome the desires of the body; therefore we see that Daniel's fast was very effective even though he did eat. Confessing of scriptures heals us because it brings change of the message in us right from our DNA. So when confessing scriptures we are not telling them to God but to our minds and to our body so that it comes in line with the Word and gets healed.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord Jesus, You came as man and gave us your flesh to eat so that the perfect Message from You will bring change in us and make us again sons of God and part of You. Lord, let your people know that battle does not lie in the physical but in the carnal mind of man which is against your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]
Romans 7:17-25
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Galatians 6:8 - For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.

John 6:49-56
49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.
50 This is the bread which cometh down out of heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
51 I am the living bread which came down out of heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: yea and the bread which I will give is my flesh [message], for the life of the world.
52 The Jews therefore strove one with another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
53 Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh [message] of the Son of man and drink his blood [sacrifice], ye have not life in yourselves.
54 He that eateth my flesh [message] and drinketh my blood [sacrifice] hath eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh [message] is meat indeed, and my blood [sacrifice] is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh [message] and drinketh my blood [sacrifice] abideth in me, and I in him.

John 7:19a - Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you doeth the law?

John 4:23 - But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for such doth the Father seek to be his worshippers.

Romans 8:12-14
12 So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh:
13 for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die; but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

2 Corinthians 10:6 - And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Corinthians 15:48-54
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
