Be in agreement

Matthew 18:19 - Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching (concerning) any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

The scriptures in the Bible are so rich that it boggles the mind as to how perfect the Lord's Word is. Like I told you in my previous mails the grammar is very important and many of the translations do not dig into the depth or explain the background.

Let us take for example the word 'agree' Greek 'sumphoneo' over here has it's TVM (Tone, Voice, Mood) as Aorist, Active, Subjunctive.

Aorist : The aorist tense is characterized by its emphasis on punctiliar action; that is, the concept of the verb is considered without regard for past, present, or future time. There is no direct or clear English equivalent for this tense, though it is generally rendered as a simple past tense in most translations.

Subjunctive: The subjunctive mood is the mood of possibility and potentiality.

What I have learnt in the scripture that the TVM are inline with the three parts of our being - Mind, Body & Spirit.

Therefore in our minds irrespective of our memory of the past or present on the matter, or what our feelings say about the future, we need to come to agreement to receive.

Secondly, physical we need to be active, which means energetic and excited when we agree.

Lastly in spirit we may not have a confirmation, yet we should believe we will receive.

Another thing to remember that this scripture uses the word 'SHALL' which means the Lord is also party to this agreement. Therefore the thing agreed upon should be inline with the Word of God; which is God's will.

If we keep in prospective what Christ has done for us as the background, this agreement will be fulfilled; for in Him the Word became flesh.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, we thank You for the sacrifice of your Son Jesus. The Word as given by your prophets Moses and others were fulfilled in Him. Help us realize this when we come together in prayer so that we receive our prayer with confidence in Him. Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
