2 Corinthians 11: 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or [if] ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with [him].

It may surprise many that some Hindus in India claim Jesus came to India, Kashmir, when He was young, to learn Vedic ways to enable Him to increase in wisdom, understanding and do the miracles He did. They try to exploit the period between when Jesus was 12 years old and became 30 years old, assuming nothing is written in the Bible. They fail to see that at the wedding of Canna, Jesus was called/invited to attend along with His disciples. It was only because He was doing ministry that He had disciples. He was never sitting idle, not doing His Father’s mission; it is another thing that all that He spoke or did during this period is not recorded in the Gospels.

When Islam speaks of Isa/Jesus, we immediately know they are speaking of not the Jesus of the Bible but a fabricated/imaginary one, for they bluntly deny basic facts. They not only deny His death and resurrection, even though in one of their Ayahs we find their Isa speaking of his death and resurrection. They foolishly associate the sister of Moses with the mother of Jesus just because their names are the same.

When the Catholics speak of Jesus, they have again modified the Jesus of the Bible to put Mary over Him. God humbling Himself and coming as man was not sufficient; they put Mary as an intermediary for the salvation of man. What they have secretly done is replace the Holy Spirit with Mary, that too not Mary the mother of Jesus but a spirit that comes as Mary and claims the insane titles of ‘Mother of God’, ‘Queen of Heaven’, ‘Mother of all mankind’. They do not see that Mary was a devout Jew, and even after being the surrogate mother of Jesus, she did not know Him. She, like other Jews who followed Him, thought Him to be a king who frees Israel from Roman captivity or the promised Prophet greater than Moses. They also do not see that the three recorded interactions of Jesus with her were simply rebukes. The first time, when He was 12 years old, He stayed back at the temple to debate with the learned Jewish clergy. The second time at the wedding of Canna when she pushed Him to organise for wine, and the third time when she came hurriedly with one of her sons to check on Him, believing rumours of Him being possessed by demons. She was to be the virgin who gave birth to Jesus, but after that, they continued her virginity and declared her marriage as cursed by stating they did not have children, even though the Bible says otherwise.

This activity of redefining Jesus or modifying the true Jesus does not stop there, but continues also in Believer Churches. Preachers twist and edit the teachings of Jesus just to please people and not disturb the lives of those attending Church. Their aim to bring people into the Church being fulfilled; they do not risk offending them, even at the cost of losing their souls; saving them from Hell, but putting them in the Lake of Fire. They are happy with a Church full of goats and no sheep.

Today’s scripture warns us to be aware of what Jesus they preach. We are called to study the Bible and discern their teachings or as today’s scripture says, we will receive that which is set for them.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You are True and Your Word is True. Your Word is a double edge sword that brings correcting. It exposes darkness and destroys it. Lord we pray we do not try to protect falsehood but learn to speak against it and expose it to the light of Your Word that it gets destroyed…

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
