Zachariah 1:1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
People get confused with the name Zachariah (meaning “Jehovah remembers”) since there are 3 named in the Bible and 1 in the Jewish Targumim, which is similar to the Tafsir of the Quran. The Targumim and Tafsir give the official interpretation, so no one can divert from it, preventing them from knowing the truth (of being exposed in case of the Quran). The Catholic Church tried this trick with the Bible by introducing the Latin Bible. They did this because the Bible is so complex that there are many possible interpretations, and they did not want anyone to question their interpretation. But those who have an in-depth understanding of it realise the Bible has many internal mechanisms to check misinterpretations so that the Truth is not distorted.
The pomegranate (a fruit that was embroidered on the Tabernacle curtains) gives guidance on how to control misinterpretations. There are also other counterchecks to avoid misunderstandings regarding scriptures.
Zachariah is foolishly considered a minor Prophet by people who lack understanding of the Bible and Callings. Just because the book is small, it does not make its value less; they do not understand that the things written in this book are compressed and explode when understood. If only people understand this book they will truly be Christians and the fear of God will be rooted in them. It has more to do with humanity on the whole than with the Israelites and Babylon.
In my Church (where I fellowship) they are currently studying this book, sadly Preachers are expounding this book instead of Teachers. Preacher can do a good job on NT books since they are mostly milk but a book loaded with meat like Zachariah needs a Teacher only.
Paul who was looked up to as being very learned, himself understood his limitation thus had people like Luke, Mark (John) who had Calling of Teachers, to help him with scriptures that were meat.
If I were to expound on this book I would cover 60% of the Bible and 80% of Revelations. In Reference Scriptures I have noted all the very key scriptures from this book which are solid meat.
Let us not take the book of Zachariah likely but dig deeper and deeper for it holds treasures that will transform us and our understanding of the purpose of God. For it holds key elements in solving the puzzle called life.

Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, are not a pleaser of man. For You all are important and loved the same. You use them and reward them according to their hearts. Lord we pray we realize we may be small but You can do mighty things through us like You did through Zachariah, for only those who truly love You and Your Word will unlock the treasures in his book…
