Acts 22: 14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

Today’s scripture triggers the great debate of why God chooses some to know Him while the remaining are kept in the dark. Is God unjust? How do those to whom the Gospel is not preached come to know Christ? If no one reaches out to them, how can they be saved?

To understand this, we need to have a great, deep understanding of the Word and symbolism. A person in the remotest of places and having no education at all still knows the existence of God and the creator of all that exists. God also knows the person’s heart, the potential to change and know Him.

There are many cases known where no preacher has reached, but the Lord has appeared in dreams/visions, and they have come to know Him.

No soul can ever claim injustice for our God is a Righteous God.

Let us who know Him be grateful that we have come to know Him. Let us also not assume we are through and all will be okay. We need to realise that in the flock are both sheep and goats. The sheep are the only ones who inherit His Kingdom, while the goats (who also know Him) receive great punishment for knowing Him, yet rejecting His Word/Will. Also, the goats are in greater numbers than the sheep.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, created all things for a purpose that no man without wisdom that comes from You can understand and receive. Lord, we pray we do not take You or our knowing You for granted. We adhere to the warning of Paul to work our salvation with fear and trembling…

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
