Luke 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

I have mentioned before that to truly understand scriptures, one needs to study the Greek/Hebrew words, their grammar and symbolism. With tools like Strong Vines (which numbered all biblical words), one who has no knowledge of Hebrew or Greek can get some insight into the words.

The word Jerusalem in Hebrew means ‘teaching of peace’ and refers to a city, but spiritually speaks of those who are just new or babies in the Lord and growing in the Lord.
The term mountain in Greek means ’to rise’; interestingly, it also means ‘rear’.

Our spiritual journey starts with Egypt (meaning dual strait – symbolises those who are of God but living a worldly life – lost sheep) and ends as Israel – meaning ‘Prince of God’/Sons of God/one having authority in God.

Jerusalem is good, but also dangerous, for when one is in Jerusalem, one is prone to attack. No doubt the Lord’s Jerusalem is protected by walls, but when the enemy is within then who can protect Jerusalem. When the leaders themselves are destroying the inhabitants of Jerusalem then who can save other than God. It is for this reason Bible says pray for Jerusalem but never says pray for Israel. Israel (Sons of God) cannot be shaken for it manifests the power and glory of God.

For many, many years, the Church has been dwelling in Jerusalem. It is filled with infants, many still connected to their leaders via umbilical cords, for any and everything they run to them. And the leaders themselves also dwell in Jerusalem, for they too are connected to their mentors, all connected and all destroying each other, none making disciples for Christ, but disciples of each other.

The Lord is Slow to Anger, so the Days of the Lord’s Vengeance are a period when the Lord’s patience runs out. The Jews were given 70 years (70 weeks of Daniel) to repent, but they did not, so they saw the wrath of God fall on them in 70AD.

After the coming again of the Church from 1026years of exile and the army of God going on the move lead by the Rider on the White Horse (Word of God) this was around 1500AD with the beginning of the Reformation Movement. The Church started well, but later went into spiritual hibernation. It became worldly rather than spiritual. With the grace of God being abundant, the church has been given 7×70 years to repent. This too did not happen, and thus, since 2017, they have been facing the Days of the Lord’s Vengeance.

Just last Saturday, I attended the baptism of my niece and nephews, who came out of Catholicism. Their Church, which is a mega Church (200+ members), was so afraid that they forbade all to post any pics or videos on social media. Baptism is partly supposed to be a public declaration of one’s faith.

Today’s scripture talks of when persecution of the Church will be very great and they will either rise (grow spiritually) or backslide (compromise) to be saved. In India, we see radical Hindus set like vultures, and in other countries, it is either radical Muslims or politicians (who are atheists/agnostics even though they claim to be Christians).

The Sunday after I finished my preaching (2 weeks ago) and was driving back home, I received a call from an unknown number, and while driving, I do not take such calls, so I denied it. Later, I saw the call from a radical Hindu. After that call, I did not receive another call from that number. It is not new of me receiving such calls when I preach a spiritually shaking message.

The Bible says that when we abide in the Lord, not a hair of our head will be harmed. But when we do foolishness or take God for granted, or try to misuse Him, then we will one day end up making the Lord Himself our enemy.

Satan can destroy our bodies but the Lord can destroy our spirit. Let us not dare make the Lord our enemy; let fear of the Lord bring us to grow in Him so that we experience His love more and more.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You Lord made us to bless us greatly. Our foolishness and trivial approach to the Word of God, the Kingdom of God, brings us into the danger of your wrath. Lord, we pray the Church wakes up before it becomes too late and experiences your full wrath…

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
