John 20:9, 10 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.

When we read today’s scripture, we assume the Disciples were ignorant of scriptures pertaining to Jesus’ resurrection, but if we look back there were numerous times that Jesus spoke of His death and resurrection, funny part is they responded to them in various emotions, yet these people could not get it into their heads.

Today after coming in to Lord we may think how dumb would they have been to not understand Jesus spoke about his resurrection, at times in plain words.

Last Sunday service the preacher was preaching on Zechariah chapter 5 and instead of the word ‘roll’ he used the word ‘scroll’, assuming both were same. The word roll speaks of judgment while scroll is written word which may have multiple purposes. That one mistake caused him to lose hold of the whole matter.

Our adding or even subtracting just one word or its meaning can cause us to lose a lot. So let us be careful when we deal with scriptures, let us not jump into conclusions but take every word seriously treating them more than precious stones, for at times that word/understanding can make or break life.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You Lord are Holy God and Your Word is Holy. Every small of You and Your Word is Perfect in every way. Lord we pray we seek Your Word with every little bit of our lives, like everything depends on it. We pray do not take anything in Your Word likely…

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
