Jeremiah 28:15 Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.
Since 2017, we have been experiencing the Days of the Lord’s Vengeance, which has been gradually picking up, and we have seen that the gloves are off. From 2017 many famous Evangelists have died, starting with Billy Gram, Reinhard Bonnke, Ravi Zacharias, Morris Cerullo, Luis Palau, David Yonggi Cho, Timothy Keller, Charles Stanley, Pat Robertson… in 2017 itself we have seen deaths of at least 10 famous Preachers or Christian leaders like Eddie Long, Joseph Nicolosi, Tony Alamo, Bob Harrington, Bob Harrington, Nabeel Qureshi, RC Sproul…
All of them did great works via their various ministries, but as one understands the core Christian foundation/values, we see amongst these people many gained tremendous riches, were disciples of man more than God, and held doctrines that contradicted scriptures. Another factor we see common in famous Preachers is that they claimed a new title in their season. They call themselves Evangelist, then Prophet, Apostle, etc., good that they refrain from calling themselves gods… Many amongst these screamed ‘Repentance’, but failed to define it clearly and caused most people to think it was about being sorry for their wrongs.
In today’s scripture, we see Jeremiah, who was hated by most but feared, rebuking Hananiah, who was also a Prophet (anointed Man of God), but loved since he spoke what they wanted to hear.
When we twist scriptures to not offend people or when we abuse them for our personal desires, then we become misrepresentatives of God. We know God hates those who misrepresent Him. We read there was a point when Moses, a Man of God, most loved, but made a grave mistake according to his anointing, and it is written God ‘sought to kill him’.
Whatever may be the spiritual growth, we cannot take God or His Word for granted. As we grow in Him, we walk a finer line and cannot afford mistakes. When more is given unto us, more is expected of us.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You are Merciful God, showing mercy to the poor in spirit. But those who have seen Your Glory and received more from You have also seen Your wrath unfiltered. Lord, we pray we understand as we grow in You, we need to be more careful, for just one mistake can call our end…
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
