Hosea 4: 14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people [that] doth not understand shall fall.
Some people, when scolded at, become very sad or get into depression; they do not realise that being scolded or being reprimanded is good.
If we look at Jesus, when the common man, the Pharisees or the Sadducees questioned Him, He responded differently. To the common man, He answered in parables, while the Pharisees He answered with rebukes and to the Sadducees He answered with a counter question.
The Pharisees were religious people who were passionate about their beliefs, but sadly did not understand them, so their leaders, their elders, misled them. The Sadducees, on the other hand, were people who considered themselves to be learned and thus were stiff-necked. He saw an opportunity for change in the Pharisees but not in the Sadducees.
We need to realise that when someone scolds, reprimands/punishes anyone, they do so out of love or hope for change. It shows they still see light at the end of the tunnel.
In today’s scripture, we see that when people (daughters and spouses) knowingly commit whoredom or adultery, the Lord says He will not correct them, for they are destined to be doomed.
This scripture is not gender biased, for the whoredom, or adultery, is not more natural but more spiritual. It does not speak of natural gender but our spiritual gender (which is not the same as our natural gender and can change unlike our natural gender to become Sons of God). In the natural, almost all sins, including murder has hope of forgiveness through repentance but spiritual sins when done knowingly (being aware) even the smallest have very little chances of the person turning back and repenting. When not attended to timely they can destroy even the greatest Man of God.
Let us not take everything likely because we are under grace. Let us realize there are many reasons or situation where we can reject the Lord and His grace by our spiritual hardening/backsliding. Let us always be a clay that is wet and soft, ready to be corrected, molded for transformation.

Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, love us and are Merciful. You are not blind, nor blindly love us. You are full of Wisdom and are Omniscient. Nothing is hidden from You in time and space. Lord we pray we do not take You nor your Grace for granted. Let us always we moldable and not spiritually dead…
