Hosea 4:13 They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof [is] good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.

Most of the time, whenever I preach, I have to restrain myself from being blunt and speaking the bare truth. As Jesus spoke in parables, so as not to destroy them but to let them absorb as much as they can, I, too, need to give titbits of the truth and not the whole.

Last Sunday I was preaching in a service, and the Lord gave me the topic ‘hate’. A simple topic like this is also difficult to teach, so I had to dilute it, and just before I could take the stage, while the worship was going on, I was surprised to see a leech crawling on the floor. Then the Lord opened my mind to the relationship between hate and a leech. Half my preaching was instantly changed, taking the leech as its centre. Before that, I was worried, would they be able to swallow what I came with?

It will shock a person when he or she truly opens their eyes and sees what they are doing in the name of ‘Christianity’. How their lack of understanding of scriptures makes them do things contrary to the Word of God. They follow the words of man blindly and do not confirm with the Word of God.

Today’s scripture tells us the immorality that exists in this world is rooted in the wrong relationship with God, not just of the children but also of the parents. They worship Baal/Baali (an unknown god) more than the Living God. Even after the Lord came as man (Ishi) to manifest Himself, still they do not see Him or know Him. They are stuck with the man Jesus and do not move ahead to know Christ, let alone know Him as Lord. This problem is not with small churches but even with top Preachers and leaders. It really saddens me to see the state even after 2000years of the coming of Christ.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, are Truth and Light; there is no darkness in You. Lord, we pray that we break the bonds of worldly knowledge that darkens our knowing the truth. We pray, we trust You and Your Word alone and not the words of man, whoever they be. Make us like the people of Berea…

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Hosea 2:16 And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, [that] thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.

Isaiah 57:5,7
5 Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?
7 Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.

Jeremiah 3:13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.

Romans 1:23-32
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
