Haggai 2: 11, 12 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests [concerning] the law, saying, If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
Some people amaze me when they rattle away scriptures like an AK47. But they amaze me more when I see their lack of understanding of scriptures. They not only memorise scriptures but also memorise the writings of secular writers/preachers. These people think they are Preachers just because they touch the Bible.
In today’s scripture, the Lord questions the Priest. A Priest is a representative of the people before the Lord. A Man of God, on the other hand, is representative of God before the people.
Cross-question preachers/Pastors about scriptures, they will be shaken, and instead of correcting themselves, they will attack you, questioning your authority (as a Priest) even if you are a Man of God (person with a Calling). Not knowing they are questioning God, but when we question a priest, we do not question God, instead question the people who selected him.
Today is Resurrection Sunday, and we see that because of these unholy priests, the Church is celebrating Easter. It is sadder to see even Men of God bowing to them and celebrating Easter instead of Resurrection Sunday. They do not realise that today we are reminded that we will be transformed, like the Lord Jesus Christ, and put on a spiritual body, He showed us by His Transfiguration. He became us so that we be lifted up and become like Him.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, are Holy God for You alone are Perfect. As Your children, You have called us to be holy for You are Holy. We pray, Lord, we realise we only become holy through our renewal in the Spirit, by knowing and following the Truth, not by works…
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from [their] mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive [it], let him receive [it].
2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Happy Resurrection Day…
