Luke 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
Bible says flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God; that means we, as humans, cannot enter Heaven but transfigure/become spirit beings as Angels on Judgment Day like Jesus transfigured, so as to enter Heaven. Angels do not have gender or age; all were created male (Sons) and together in the beginning. We as humans have age, for we come into the flesh at different times.
Like flesh cannot dwell in the spirit world, so also spirit cannot dwell in this natural world for long. It is not that they cannot, but the repercussion of their doing will affect us tremendously. It is for this reason many times Angels and even the Lord took human forms and appeared before man.
Fallen angels/evil spirit/unclean spirits had their powers marked (restricted) during the Noah floods; thus, they cannot take human form or any other form, and need hosts to survive in this natural world. They cannot last long without a host or any host other than humans; it is similar to us not being able to survive long underwater. They cannot possess those who have the Name/nature of the Lord/light; they are happy dwelling in hearts that have darkness, where the truth is absent. A single person that has great darkness can host not just one evil spirit but many. An evil spirit taking residence does not mean it actually resides in that body, but it means it spiritually attaches to its host like a parasite/leach leading to the host’s destruction. The Holy Spirit on the other hand fills us and builds us.
Today’s scripture warns us that if we are delivered from an evil spirit and still harbour darkness, then there are high chances we will again be host to evil spirit/s. The chances of having more take hold are also very high.

Lord, You are Almighty God. You, Lord, are Light, and it is not that there is no darkness in You, but even darkness cannot exist in Your presence. Lord, we pray we realise that if we do not have You, Your Word, Your Nature in us, then we are prone to evil spirits. We pray we always be far from darkness taking residence in our hearts and also seek light more and more, we seek Your Spirit and Your Word for Your Word in us anchors Your Spirit greater in us…
