Matthew 21:1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

On their journey from Jericho to Jerusalem, we find that as they reached Bethphage, a place near Bethany, Jesus sent 2 of His disciples to fetch Him a colt tied alone with its parent. It is on this colt, which is about 2 years old (unsaddled) that He rides into Jerusalem, where the masses greet him with praises of Hosanna.

If one understands this event is an underplay of that which happens on Judgment Day. In Bible symbolism, an olive tree symbolises God’s people and a fig tree the people of the world. Raw figs are not consumable, and we see that when Jesus saw a fig tree in season that had no fruit, He cursed it (passed judgment) and it died from its roots. On Judgment Day, the situation is the same. In its due time, He finds people do not change, then His Two Witnesses, by their death and resurrection, trigger the Rapture, and then He comes with His Angels (Elect – colt) in glory and the Judgment happens.

The Bible gives us warnings in words or in symbolism; we need to use wisdom to understand them and prepare ourselves likewise. Let us not neglect any scripture, for in them are treasures we cannot fathom.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are Almighty God. Lord, You are Creator of all that exists. You created everything with purpose, and in its due time You reveal things. Lord, we pray we understand our purpose and prepare ourselves in time so that we are not found unworthy and rejected thus punished…

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all [of] gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which [are] upon the top thereof:
3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right [side] of the bowl, and the other upon the left [side] thereof.

12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What [be these] two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden [oil] out of themselves?
13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these [be]? And I said, No, my lord.
14 Then said he, These [are] the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
